Bad Company 2

Well Strid, if you feel this one isnt' as good as BC1. Then play on hardcore. It virtually turns the game back into the orginal, except you die much faster (in BC1, it could take a while to kill someone)

Here's what you get with Hardcore:

1. BYE BYE HALO HEALTH.

2.Bye bye bright orange dots.(you can still spot and get the points for spoting)

3. Bye bye MW2 killcam.

4. Motion sensor map combo still works, but now you have to pull out your map(start button) or really work for the kill by listing for the beeps and searching for the person.

5.1 shot to the head from any gun counts.

6. sniper auto spot still can see someone in your screen before you do, but with no orange dot to show the way you have to look for the person.

I love how the health doesn't go back up.

I've played a lot of Noobcore and it isn't even Battlefield, much less BFBC 1 :/

Why is it Noobcore? lol The only real difference is it takes 3-4 bullets instead of 6-7 bullets to kill people depending on range and magnum or not. Not to mention you don't have the orange triangles running around like you mentioned in your last post. I think its more noob to be able to go 'hey, thats an orange triangle over there in that building, i cant see the guy but ill shoot my gustav anyway cause someone spotted him' instead of actually knowing someones there. Plus friendly fire is a good thing imo, you tend to be more careful with shots and explosives.

Edit: I never even touched BFBC1 so I can't really compare but I enjoy hardcore way more than non hardcore. Its all I play on PC (actually the same in MW2 as well).

Because it isn't Battlefield? Really, I didn't come up with it, that's just the forums' take on it, but I buy it. If you had played BFBC I wouldn't even have to explain but since you haven't, well, I'm still not. Personal preference comes to mind as well as wanting to boot up some more Mass Effect.

In short, both modes suck.

To be fair, BC1 or 2 are not "battlefield" games. I own 1942, 1943, and BF2. BUT BC1 and 2 are virtually the same with different tweaks, but since you're playing Mass Effect, I can see how that would draw your attention anyway! That is the best series to come out in years! Hmmm I need to go back through and save one of my team members this go round lol.

I really wanna know if I should get Bad Company 2 for console or PC hmmm... I'm used to shooters being on my PC but so many seem to have a console focus and benefit from that :P any suggestions from anyone who has experience with both?

If you have a PC that can run BC2 well and don't have many friends that you play with on xbox live or ps3, then go PC all the way. It LOOKS so much better and controls so much easier. Headshots are so much smoother with mouse and keyboard.

I go way back with BF, the only one I haven't ever owned is Vietnam. BFBC 1, while different from MC, was a step in the same direction. It was still Battlefield. BFBC 2 doesn't feel like a step in the BF way, but more of a "Hai letz mak MW2 t00." Like I said though, opinions will vary, but I just can't get in to it. That being said, I can't bring myself to sell it either. I keep telling myself something good will come of keeping it, though the only good that has come of it thus far is that it makes me appreciate MW2 a helluva lot more than I use to. With Perfect Dark here though, neither MW2 or BC2 are good enough to keep my MP loyalty this time around.

I'll agree with you on the Mass Effect, I love it. Hopefully the third will play more like the first and less like the Gears wanna-be but still damn good second.

I'm not sure which I liked better, ME1 or 2. Combat wise, two was fun, fast past, and no lag, but something was missing. The first one had a much deeper combat. I will say this, I like the presentation of the story better in ME2 though, and I loved the characters. At least I can't complain, both imo were masterpieces, and since 2 did a lot of good things by answering questions of fans, I can only hope that 3 will be the perfect bridge between the two. The suicide mission in ME2 was awesome, especially if you upgraded everything on the Normandy. Damn, me talking about it is making me want to play it again and finish up all the extra quests, and replaying the final mission to save my favorite character, but it's tough juggling FF XIII, BFBC2 with friends already, as well as I need to play GOW III, and DAO:A

I will say this. I enjoyed BC1 with friends, but it was still still great if you were going solo. BC2 on the other hand, isn't as fun solo, but for some reason, I enjoy much more then BC1 if I have a full squad.

Not trying to hate strid but I really don't have the same feeling as you in the slightest. I play both on PC and BFBC2 feels alot like BF2 did for me, just nicer graphics and destruction. And I don't think it feels or plays like MW2 at all. MW2 is just so damn easy. I can play and go 40-10 no problem, then i load up BFBC2 and feel accomplished if i can go 14-8 or something like that. I played some Vietnam but never got into the WW2 so i cant say anything in regard to old school, but BC2 does feel alot like BF2 to me. Maybe its consoles as compared to PC where its different? Idk.

Also I agree with anglis to an extent. I still have fun playing BC2 solo, but its a lot of fun with 4+ people workin together. Even when i play MW2 with 4-5 guys (which is also more fun than playing solo) I dont get the same feeling of team work as I do in BFBC2. Maybe its the people I play with too idk, but they are just different experiences all together for me.

Oh yeah and my KDR on MW2 is like 1.98 with 25k+ kills, and im like 1.15 on BF with like 3k kills or w/e.

I guess it's just not in the cards for me, I know you're not tryin' to hate. I don't like it because it's not like BFBC to the core, though the damage increase is nice. It's just like MW2 for me, not gameplay wise, but how I feel about it. I feel CoD4 and BFBC are much superior to their sequals despite all the "improvements". I have a K/D of over 2 in both so it's not that I suck (I play the objectives pretty heavily too). I just don't share the same affinity for them as I did the previous games. I find myself enjoyin' Perfect Dark a helluva lot more than both of them. I guess simple is better to me.

Edit: Entertainmart recently expanded into my area. Fkin' win... I got $40 *a piece* for MW2 and BC2. Gamestop and bye-bye seem to go with this.
