Ok, im not very Saavy on this whole dat swapping thing.

Can someone give me in dept, detailed, step by step directions on how to make Bahamut appear in place of Shiva?

If you can figure out where and what number those two are its simple >.> I have no idea how to do this

After you know the numbers, take Shiva's dat file and put it somewhere safe. Then copy Bahamuts dat file, put it in the same folder as Shivas and then change its number to that of Shivas. After that everytime you call Shiva you should see it as Bahamut

Huh, that is fairly simple. Anyone have a chart as to what numbers apply to what models?

Well i found shiva...

FFXI Folder >> ROM >> 97 >> 72
FFXI Folder >> ROM2 >> 97 >> 72

1 is probably the summon, other the prime one

Idk what bahamut is

Alrighty, so do you think I should save both of them and replace both with Bahamuts?

Worst case scenario is I switch the Prime one, go to help a friend with shiva then crap myself as I see bahamut floating and waiting XD

Bahamut Readies Diamond Dust

....uhh, no.

Now to back to Rom 1 files then 159 and look for file 81> right click> rename>
O bah (rename is so u know what it is) > paste the shiva file onto desktop> renmae it 81> copy/cut it> paste it into file 158 in rom 1

What is this step for...exactly?

u can not have 2 files same name in the same file and if u paste the shiva one it all rdy has a number so u want to rename it the BH one and rename something u will rember if ever want to go back

Heh, well I took a guess. I changed out the dat file for shiva and the ROM>3-36 file.

Shiva turned into the Arch Duke of Jeuno XD

An Kire is right. After much deciphering of his native "code" I figured out that you have to copy the dat file somewhere else and rename it first, because there is already a dat file of the same number in the folder you are copying to. So:

Copy the desired model dat file. Move it to your desktop.
Find the file your are replacing, rename it (36backup in this case) and move it to the desktop.
Change the name of the desired dat file. (36 in this case) then copy into the folder.

uh....why not just keep the shiva one somewhere safe and keep it the same number? that step is completely pointless

and yeah just experiment with it if you wish, you may find him

whereas you could copy and paste shiva back from wherever you put it in 2 seconds...i just dont see the point of renaming Shiva into something else...just put it somewhere else

Its a shame only you can see it. I want to take some of these into Yuhtunga Jungle. XD

Oh I just rename it 72backup just so that I remember this is the origonal. Its all personal preference.

rename it as i do not know data files number off by heart as each number has like 100+ ones lol there like 300data file 1 over all ffxi etc so rename easier

That works too...blazn was suggesting renaming it some other number or something...I dont know, its hard to understand him/her/it.

Hmm, I found Fenrir's model and tried that. It works, but when I go to use bloodpacts, i get disconnected from the server. Hmmmm

Meh, google isnt turning up anything for Bahamut's dat file.

as the motions are another file u got to do every one :D

Bahamut dat file is 1-159-81
should be in this folder C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\159

Just make a new folder in the rom folder called Original Shiva so you know where it is and you dont change the name, then when you want to change back you just pull it back to the rom folder and over write the swapd dat. Thats what i do when i use cracks and need to have the new .exe in the folder.
