I managed to obtain all the INT merits over a couple of years ago. At the time BLM was my only 75 job and the RDM that I levelled soon after could use the extra INT as well. Since that time I have levelled both WAR and NIN where an extra 5 STR would be a lot better. I was just wondering if there is a noticeable difference to dmg/or ws dmg when you have all of STR merited?

I normally merit with WAR and sometimes NIN (2-4 x week)
I engame with BLM and sometimes RDM (2 days a week)

At the moment I get around an extra 12-15 dmg on decent sized nukes from the INT merits. Just interested to hear the opinions of people on the board as regards to the merits (/sigh) of all INT or all STR.

blm is your true love Z

int since it would probrably have a bigger impact with your rdm and blm than meriting str for war and nin which is for merit.

it also seems that there is more gear that raises str than gear that raises int. but hell thats my 2 cents Z

Probably best to keep int full since you're fighting tougher mobs in end game that need higher int than you would be in merit ptys. Besides, I'm sure you don't want to go through all the extra trouble of getting another 36 or so more merits again just to max out str when you already got that much before for int.

Well... It depends on which jobs you use more frequently. A lot of people take their race into consideraton when deciding which attributes to merit... but I can't comment on that because I don't know what race you are <_<;

Also, INT merits only really benefit BLM and RDM, whereas STR covers a broader job spectrum. You might want to keep that in mind if you plan on levelling other jobs to 75.

Was it only me thinking this was a dark knight thread when first reading the title? -.-

(idk what to go with Zeo, go with what your primary job will gain the most benefit).

Pretty much what other people said, whatever job you play the most that benefits from the stat increase or whatever job you like the most.

If your WAR has a ridill, ebody and sword merits then take all those INT merits off, however if it doesn't (or your BLM has stuff like HQ weskit, novio earring etc..) leave your INT merits on. Simple.

ty for the comments

Think I'll stick with INT for now and if I aquire some pimpage later as war I may change. But my blm is my best equipped job, so I'll stick with it. I was just curious incase the 5 str made a bigger difference than I assumed.

and Khid...

Get a bloody job to 75 soon will ya!!!

(peace)

oh come on now Zeo if i did that people may not think I'm so gimp anymore >_>....

I dont like exping like some people i just like to hang around in the lowbie lvs.

ok

Just think of all the joy you are missing though.
Death x 7 a night Dynamis
Watching RMT claim whatever you are trying to claim
Feeling kinda dissapointed by anything less than 12k and hr
The joys of endgame.

but..
Getting a job to 75 makes it easier to get gil for all those other jobs.

Quiet honesly i wouldnt anyone start heavily meriting any job like that till they @ least get a coupold 75s and ins ouy what you really like first. I mean you can love a job but get bored with it and even totaly lose interest in it so wait till you get a few 75s before you merit anything in the stat catigorey. I wouls say Weapon or Magic skill are ok to work on with the xtra merits btu you only get 5 merits in stats it you wanted to change to melee your wasting 360k xp just to lower int and increase str thats alot of merit if you "would" have spread them in other catigories
