Barbarian Mittens

What is typically thought about these?

Subtle Blow -4
Counter +1


Is the - Subtle Blow worth not using them in exp? Does the Counter give you counter?

Counter +1 gives any job counter. Muscle Belt is my basis of evidence - have one, seen proc.

Subtle Blow -4 isn't much considering how much TP the mob is already getting. 0.4% (believe it's 1 to 0.1% ratio) more won't cripple any common fights.

If they're cheap/easier to obtain I'd say they're a very viable alt to Tarasque+1.

The counter give you a 1% chance to counter attack, I believe. For the jobs that can wear them, they don't have much subtle blow gear anyways, so it's not going to be a big deal. Most of the jobs that can wear them have another alternative though, spike finger gauntletts, adaman mittens, O. kote; most of the rest wouldn't get any benefit from them.

I currently am sporting Tarasque Mitts+1 so -5 CHR(?) and +12 attk. (in 1 lvl my WAR will be using them as well)

I was just thinking in the back of my head if adding a very small chance to counter would tip the scale a little bit. Spiked Finger Guantlets arent necessarily better since they sport the same amount of attk, correct?

More then likely I will be picking up Dusk Gloves regardless, but for my current attk build, I think I like this piece at least for soloing.

EHands is hardly a viable option for just any person. =P

However, the Barbarian Mitts NM is -incredibly- difficult, and as it's already been said, most jobs can use OKote, Spiked Gauntlets or Dusk Hands. It'd be much better getting those unless Barbarian Mitts have some odd hidden effect, which as of now no one's found.

I'd probably go for Spiked Fng. Gnt. for my DRG and WAR considering I really don't like wearing oven mitts (Tarasque) and I can't use O. Kote. But if I had these, or they were easier to obtain, I would go with these over Spiked or Tarasque

Does anyone on Quetz actually own a pair of these? I've never seen em.

Gil-wise, these would probably be cheaper than spiked, tarasque+1, so on, but that NM looks like a bitch, lol.

I don't see the point of them either, dusk/homam would be an obviously better option. Heca for the jobs that can wear it for WS.
