We all know lvling in Qufim can be very frusturating as it is, stuck with people who have less common sense the mayonaise and the intelligence of a 5 year old. But when people who do know how the game works turn idiotic it makes it ten times worse.

So! I'm leveling in qufim, not at one of the usual camp spots. Way out in the middle of no where. We're actually doing pretty decent (except for the fact that one of our rng's had all his macro's in /emote, and that was really really aggrivating when he spammed). Then I start lagging somewhat. Turns out a little taru lvl 22 summoner, Barbiegirl, felt the urge to stand directly in the middle of our party and summon all of her elemtental spirits while she was LFG. Why would someone summon directly in the middle of a fighting party I have no idea. So I sent her a tell asking her very nicely, stating that her summons were giving us lag and if she could move away a little bit. She sends me a tell saying "this is the only place in qufim with no ghouls" ....

Um, ok? Out in the middle of no where is now the only place without ghouls in the ENTIRE zone! Wow I didnt know that. (sarcasim) I could think of plently of places to level summoning in qufim that would be safe. E.I. around the tower off to the side where there usually isnt many people, at the zone to jeuno, etx etx. So I state again, asking her to move down because I'm lagging from her summons popping up in the middle of our fighting. She tells me to go get a better computer. This was really uncalled for, the entire event. I yelled at her to move, losing my patience with my already somewhat aggrivating party. Then put her on black list. She continued to summon. A few minutes later some of the other party members starting asking her, and curoius of her response, I unblisted her. She said "haha, that other party over there is getting lag from me to"

What the hell? And she wasnt some rank 1 idiot. She was a rank 5 idiot. So I know she knows better (or he, who knows anymore what anyone really is). So if someone can actually get the word out that leveling your spirit summoning in the middle of a fighting party is rude, I'd greatly appreciate it. Though I am very pleased that I will never have to deal with her again, as she is now a permanent resident on my blacklist.

Ow that's really shitty....when I was in qufim with my summoner I"d level my summoining magic to the right of the tower entrance under all the caves, nobody ever parties there and if someone did I'd move.

I think there's a flame with her name in it somewhere else on the boards too...?

Atleast they did something about it when someone did it to my party in Valkurm months ago =/ And if someone can call a GM on me for lvling enhancing magic right outside the MH in Jeuno they should be able to do something about that XD

Besides I'm not 100% sure of the fact there's a flame with her name on it...I might just recognize the name period. The only time people posting mulitple subjects on one person bugs me is when they're all within a couple of days of eachother...kinda liike the Colbwa one

Not that it matters either way, I believe Barbiegirl is actually a guy. I partied with him once, and he was fine, except for the annoying macros. Another time he was in the other party, and they were being jerks and their powerleveling was screwing around with us, and he was rubbing it in.

On a side note, please don't confuse Barbiecgirl and Barbiechic, someone who is totally opposite but has a similar name.

Last night I had to call a GM on a person who will remain nameless because he was sending me tells about tracking down people RL and killing them, when I said I'd call a GM he was like "Oh kari, if you do that I'll slit my throat and blame it on you" The gm didn't even talk to him! So I've given up on GM power. Its null.

First off, sorry to hear about the summoning incident at Qufim, that stinks.

Second, I thought that quote you gave from that person who was tracking down people IRL was pretty funny....how can they possibly call a GM on you if they slit their throat....(unless they beat around the bush, I.E. the jugular)

Barbiegirl.......is a doink. thats it, thats all. A doink. Not a horrible blm, just an obnoxious human/rodent/salad/sandwich whatever. As i understand it she/he/it had managed a week or 2 ago to Irritate or at least generally annoy almost the entirety of the lvl 45 range of NA players over the course of 2-3 days of pting, but of course being a blm everyone put up with it.

And on a side note, to the OP, rank 5 means dick and fuckall, rank means fuckall, people Pay people to get them their ranks. You too could be rank 6 or 7 or even 8 by next tuesday if you shelled out some cash or a few hi lvl friends. Hell, even being lvl 75 means dick these days, i see people like Wackygamer running around in the upper reaches. Anyone can get anything and anywhere as long as they follow the following rules:

1.) Play a high demand job.
2.) Take/make/begborrowsteal any and every opportunity that possibly presents itself.
3.) Have no pride nor desire to do anything the right way, or have fun with missions etc.

if you follow these 3 simple rules you too can act like a total asshole and GET AWAY WITH IT, and be quoted as saying things like "i'm rank 6 so stfu noob" and "I'm lvl <insert lvl higher than person youre talking to> so
stfu noob". AND, if you add in a visit to good ol' IGE you can add the following: "i have a scorp harness and a kraken club and 3 nobles tunics, stfu noob!" and shout outrageous offers for things like peacock charms and krakens in Jueno for hours on end to make yourself feel "coooool".

And the funny thing is, you wont just get to 75. You'll do it really fast. Now that's what you call Ironic.

Interesting side-note, i have personally begun to suspect that a shitload of gilbuying is going on lately...... ive seen people who i lvled with not too long ago, who were complaining about being broke and indeed had to Walk to camp from jueno because they couldnt afford a choco..... well, ive seen them running around lately, some of them in Scorp harnesses, some in Nobles tunics, one with a pair of snipers+1 and a PCC.......
i repeat, these people 1 month ago were complaining that they not only were broke, but had NO CLUE how to make money. I'm hesitant to assert that ANYONE is a gilbuyer, and i will never name names, but i'm beginning to suspect that some of them indeed figured out how to make money.....

I would like to point out that my brother had rank 5 before his first job hit 22. He had high lvl friends (Me and my LS) who basicaly plowed him through it. He was rank 3 before he had subjob items.

The meaning of that story is this... Rank means less then nothing.

lol i know rank has nothing to do with it. statement was made though because i -expect- that type behavior from rank 1 nubby under subbed morons. and (not being a fan of babying ANYONE) i've grown used to people not getting rank 5 until they pull thier own weight. For my summoning in quifim, there was 2 parties there and you were swearing like a 10 year old, i'm sorry about that part, And 2nd of all i did more away from you guys from your party but you just came closer to me as i summoned. And i'm really sorry what i did.

As far as rank meaning nothing... I find that statement true up until a point. As far as rank 5, it means nothing. Most people (myself included) had people help them/hold their hand (Xanta is a god) for a great part of the game. Most people being the PS2 generation. You suckers with comps didnt get that luxury . I jest. So people have friends to get them to rank 5, which as you know, is probably the most useful rank there is. Well after that, people interested in racking up the levels with no regards to other aspects of the game will have an amazingly difficult time getting rank 6+. Getting beyond rank 5 usually implies that one cares enough about the game to follow the storyline and has to work to improve their standing. Well that and you usually have to be upper 50's to get it done :roll:. So when I am making a party and I see a rank 5 Ninja and a rank 6 Ninja, without any other info such as past experiences to choose from, I (and just about anyone else) would choose the rank 6 guy. If the same situation existed with a rank 2 and rank 4, it would matter much less. For that reason I desperately wanted to get to rank 6 before I took my big break. Even to the point of going with a bunch of high levels to get that respect of rank 6. After taking that break, I saw just how ironic that thinking was and am glad to have realized my error!

As far as the original topic. Hot damn that would be annoying. Especially if the person was doing it intentionally which it sounds as if they were. On a sidenote though, there are relatively few places to level in Quifim that does NOT contain ghoul spawns. You have the tunnel and the tower as the most common. Both frequently get trains like mad. You have the southwestern area for pugs but that nasty ghost mob to cause problems. Finally, you have the area I think you are talking about. The canyon to the east of the tower? In my opinion, the best leveling spot in that zone. No trains to worry about, and plenty of guys to kill. So while there are few zones to be safe in and still easily accesible to a wanting party, still pretty jacked to raise summoning skill in the midst of a party. Would have upset me as well.
