So... 75 brd, using Cornette+1 for Minuet 4, then casting Minuet 3.... trying to cast Ballad 2 using a random wind instrument, then ballad 1, but the ballad won't overwrite the minuet...

I end up with Minuet 4 + Ballad 1 when casting in the above order.... the only way to get ballad 2 + 1 up, is recast both ballad 2 and 1 again, after everything above.

So:

Minuet 4 + Minuet 3 -> Ballad 2 + Ballad 1 = Minuet 4 + Ballad 1(huh?) -> Ballad 2 + Ballad 1 = Ballad 2 + 1

I don't understand the concept of making songs overwrite the others... if I remove the instruments, and wind torque, it overwrites fine the first time. I thought it just overwrote whatever songs you had on, regardless of what they were.

I noticed this too and had it explained to me, the buffs with the shortest remaining duration will be the ones that are removed. Since you're singing 2 minuets with a +2 effect, they gain +20% durtation, so 144 seconds. When you play the ballads, they only have 120 second duration, so you get the first ballad but then when you play the second ballad, the duration of the minuet you have is still greater than the ballad you have on you, so ballad 2 gets overwritten rather than minuet. It's really a dumb system, it should be the last songs you had sang on you, but that's how it works.

Yeah, it's not something even remotely intuitive, SE really dropped the ball when they made that system.

Other note, just keep your songs separated and don't give those melee ballad lol. It's only for us pimp mages. :biggrin:
