Bard Songs = Magic?

I've been lvling Bard lately, but last night was the first time I ran across an elemental as a Bard. It was IT++, which made me wonder, do elementals/pots aggro to Bard songs?

:arrow: Bard Songs are listed under Magic in AH
:arrow: The chat log says "Asplode starts casting..."

Which also makes you wonder about Ninjutsu.
 
I know they don't aggro Ninjutsu, so I'm guessing they won't aggro songs either.

My theory is that they only aggro magic that uses mp? Makes sense to me ^^
 
I know magic-aggro mobs don't aggro ninjutsu (which is why it's suggested to have NIN main or sub when mining in Ifrit's, for Tonko). Pretty certain they don't aggro songs.
 
Elemental's basically only the aggro that is of the same nature as the magic they cast. Same for all Arcana though. They'll only aggro actual 'magic.' Bard's use songs, and Ninja's use Ninjutsu. So while they ARE cast, they are not considered magic.

They don't aggro ninjitsu because ninja magic isn't magic. It's just some concoction they've made with various tools. It'd be like aggroing someone for using a prism powder.

One then wonders why Ninjitsu would be effected by Silence, though...
 
Because Ninjutsu requires hand motions hich can be interpreted as Sign Language which is a form of communication.

Speaking is a form of communication, and Silence stops speaking.

Because that type of communication is halted, logically all types of communication are halted.

But in that case...you can't do Interpretive dance which is a form of communication...

And interpretive dance is a type of stepping...
So if you are silenced you can't walk...

Thus Silence = Paralyze. Yeeeees...
 
Bard = not a spell
Bard = Song effect
Is like Change your character emotion let say lol
so my opinion = no aggro

and Nin scroll I think it do aggro like magic

I concur. Bard songs will not aggro an elemental or anything else known to aggro to "magic". Unless of course you sing a song "at" the mob, like elegy or lullaby.

Singing any song will cancel invis though, which can then get you aggro.
 
It makes Paeon a bit more useful when you wanna heal people in the middle of a bunch of magic aggros. :P
