Bastilla: aka One Very Crappy RDM

Just got finish with an awful session in Uleguerand Range. Bastilla was the RDM of this pt. She barely did anything worth doing in the pt. Sure she cast a few cures and maybe a dispel or two (after somone mentioned to do so).

Bastillla would not silence mobs, did mangae to sleep two mobs (after it was mentioned to do so). She would refresh the whm once every 10-15 mins. so many deaths in the pt session it just wasn't necessary.During the last pull she decides she wasn't going to do the bare minimum. Tells the pt that was her last fight then warps out and says in PC "LOL, GL bye" (while in Jeuno) ...WTF!

I looked to see if i could find anything on Bastilla and this is what i found:

I am sorry i did not go into mush detail about how crappy this person was, but i am just so pissed! The information in the link pretty much mirrors her behavior today.

Bastilla, if by chance you read this... You really do need to go back and start over with 57hpand w/e mp SE gives you at level 1, because you most certainly SUCK!

Bastilla is in my LS, and I happen to know for a fact that they are a great RDM. Perhaps Bastilla just didn't have complete attention to the PT at all times. Who knows, might be having a bad day/week/whatever. But if its the same one I know of, they are great at what they do.
 
This seems like a repeat of the last incident. Oh well not everyone should get the benefit of the "Three strikes" rule. Fuck em.

On a side note, I am starting to think Thethreekindoms might house some of the more notorously poor players on our server. I feel like I've seen alot of threads about people that other has replied to with "They are in my LS".

I dunno though, maybe I am just seeing things.

If you are referring to Blazn, he WAS in my LS. He was also booted out. I happen to think the players in my LS know what they are doing, unlike some of the other people I have seen on this board.
 
LOL I can't believe you're flaming someone over this party. This was a horrible party and all me and Bastilla were talking about the whole time is a good time to leave while we're still alive. Sadly we have to leave after we both died twice(me three times)

They didn't sleep the elemental on the fight we wiped(which by the way was the only time out of many link pulls) because they at first had no MP, then had hate and was trying to die(probably because we were expected to tank mobs IT@75 as 71, and as WAR.. right)

Don't flame someone when the entire party was a horrible idea.
 
Tymon's account seems most realistic. When parties suck, it's usually the result of multiple problems and not one scapegoat player. Sounds you had a bad puller (all the links), a bad leader (choice of mobs too high). With only one person in your party apparently even capable of saving the party from all the problems it was having, it's no wonder she couldn't prevent every wipe. You might have some grounds in blaming the red mage for not being able to save you every time, but you have to pass the blame around to everyone else for creating situations that you need the rdm to save you from wipes.
 
I've done Decos with Bastilla twice now, he keeps Haste on all of us and keeps us all cured, and never QUITE manages to run out of MP.

And by us all cured, I mean myself and Grodo were just up there on /WAR. =)
 
It's really funny to see this post since 2 days ago i just mentioned this Rdm on LS chat saying how awesome this Rdm was.

Just make my experience with this rdm short:

1. 71 first time to sky, main camp, roaming pt
2. 750+ mp as mithra
3. during 2 hours of spammage 0 times run out of MP as main healer
4. Kept all 3 meelee hasted WHOLE TIME.
5. and still have enough mp to enfeeble the mob a bit.

Need i say more? As far as i know, not many rdm poccess that kinda of skill at 75 let alone a first timer 71 rdm, perfect timing on curaga and such.



Bastilla is one of the best rdm i have partied with.

I don't disagree with you; I have never encountered this person. Your signature says that you are lvl 26; how do you know how he/she does as RDM in an xp party at 70+? Even if he/she has pl'd you, that has no bearing on how he/she is in an xp party...

you should not lie.. i saw what happened. And it wasn't a good time. And if i felt you were the problem the flame would be about you.

lol, i wasn't expecting for her to "SAVE" the party, but at least do what is necessary to TRY to keep the party memebers afloat. And warping out in the middle of a battle does not hold good ground.

Your party was pulling lots of links; your whm couldn't keep up with all the healing - there were problems, but they can't all be pinned on the rdm. Lots of people were dying. This isn't because some enfeebles weren't casted. Rdms speed up the levelling process, but they don't completely disable a party into crappiness by being inactive. If your party sucked that bad because the rdm wasn't doing much, the party sucked from the start. Doesn't sound like anyone was doing a good job, except maybe the autoattack and afk the battle jobs that weren't pullers too.

This person may have been having an off seesion, but if they know they are then they should show more respect to the party and say "Hey, I am not myself, so i am going to leave". Don't waste other people's time. And upon warping to Jeuno says in pc "Lol, GL bye". As i said .. Bastilla SUCKED! and this is merely just to warn people of what can happen partying with this person.

I understand that our performance isn't going to be 100% all of the time, but when one warps out in the middle of a battle... I find that prettty lame. And if it happened to any of you then you'd be flaming too.

What you just tried to say gave me a headache. you were not there to see and i seriously doubt there was afk autoattacking going on. I'm sooooo sorry if Bastilla is a friend you are trying to defend. I really do not care what any of you say to defend this person. My flame still stands.
 
I think it's very strange that she doesn't offer BLM as a sub to her RDM or WHM. But she's a very good player. I liked to put her in my PT (tank PT) when we did Dynamis together,
 
She may be a good RDM generally, or maybe she isn't. But under the assumption she is because of what other people have said, it does not condone her from some of the fundamental unspoken party rules.

It has been said that you party for EXP, not to sit around, die, or waste your time. I certainly agree with this. Assuming it was a bad party and there were multiple deaths on the RDM's part, I would not be surprised she would leave.

But once again this does not condone the fact she left in the middle of a fight or for her to not play to her full potential. I personally do not always play my best, but as long as I am functionally at the keyboard I am doing at least a decent job.

At the same time I will not, could not realistically say it was totally her fault for the bad party. But that does not change my veiw on how I feel about her if she was not really doing her job. No matter how bad the team is, you must strive to do your own best in any situation, not for them, but for yourself. And for god's sake, dont leave in the middle of fights...
 
In any case, even if the party as a whole was awful and resulted in death. Have enough of a mind to finish the current pull if something is brought back to camp. Granted there were links on some of the pulls but it isn't right to screw over 5 others your out there with to warp mid battle.
