batman begins

I hope they don't butcher batman again. The first two movies were the best ( Batman and Batman Returns) all the other movies after were a joke.

I always felt it was weird that Micheal Keaton was the best Batman in the movies. He always seemed wrong for the role but it somehow worked. Here's hoping for a good strart to a potentially great franchise.

I for one am glad that they are "rebooting" the Batman movies. I loved the first movie and liked the second one, but the third and fourth (especially) were simply abominations. Apparently people lost sight of the fact that Batman is not meant for kids (although there is no reason why kids cant enjoy it). If you look at the animated Batman youll see that it really isnt a fun cartoon for kids; I think most non-comicbook readers remember the 60's Adam West Batman and think, "Why did they go and thug Batman up?" It's not that Batman was ever "thuged up," he was dumbed down.

On a side note, is anyone else as excited about the new Superman movie having the same director as the X-men movies on board as I am? I'm a huge Superman fan and am really looking foreward to a movie, as long as its done as seriously as the recent superhero movies that have been coming out.

I absolutely adored Batman and Batman returns but what a lot of people fail to see is the fact that they're not really Batman movies, but movies loosely based off the comic books.

The thing that excites me the most about this new flick is that he actually sounds like a Detective and not just a walking mass of rubber muscles ready to kick ass. If any of you have ever actually read a batman comic book you would see that it's more of a psycological thriller than anything else. This one comic book he went after a mail man that was cutting the faces off of the people on his route and wearing them because they kept calling him "the mailman" and he didn't feel like a real person.

Batman is borderline psychotic and the comics very much play on the fact that there's a fine line between what he is and what he hunts. Bale is going to be great as batman, the only thing that's really got me going is that stupid mud bogger car of his. Like jesus christ, what the hell were they thinking?

Niiiiiice!

I was a Michael Keaton fan too - but I think Christian Bale will do a good job. I LOVED Batman 1 and 2 as well...Jim Carrey was the only half way amusing thing about #3, and I almost cried after I saw 4. I mean, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?!?!

This one looks to be promising tho.

/em keeps her fingers crossed

The only downside so far (from the looks of it) is the whole Katie Holmes factor...but she prob. won't be in it much anyway.

***Does anyone know which Villian will be in this one?

With bad-ass Ken Wanatabe playing Ras' al Goul if I remember correctly.

I must say one line from the Clooney Batman really got me laughing. It was when Bat's and Robin were standing on a rusty metal platform and Robin says, ala tv series Batman, "Holey rusted metal Batman!" I laughed my ass off.

I think the Scarecrow will be having a minor part in the movie. Whichever way, I'm glad there bringing it back and trying to repair the series after those terrible last 2 movies. I'm a huge comic book fan, I still read some on occasion (just look around and you can find  discounts  on the internet). Batman has always been my 2nd favorite hero, right behind Spider-man, can't wait to see this movie.

I guess its the "realism" they are going for. I think having the Batmobile as an armored tank is preferable to some flashy neon pimp-mobile. I mean come on, the guys not out to impress anyone, he wants to scare them. I do think the design does look a tad stupid, but I do prefer it to the other movies' batmobiles (except the first one, cuz that one was totally badass and just "fit" somehow).

But isn't batman supposed to be stealthy? I don't see him sneaking up on any goon lairs in his blastmaster 2004.

ya, batman is supposed to be stealth... but when he has to chase someone whos driving at around 50mph, I think he would sacrifice stealth for speed and protection.

Haha that's awesome!!

I didn't snoop too much around the website but that makes me laugh

I am getting excited over this movie too. Looks like they are going back to the way the first two were. I agree with you Sabia about the batmobile. It is suppose to be a prequel to the whole series so maybe they did not want the Batmobile to look too great. I don't know.

Yeah I saw it last week sometimes....It made me go doo-dee in my panties
