Is there anyone picking this awesome game up?

The beta and demo were so much better than MW2 full game imho!

PS. This is the game I will be playing til the release of Final Fantasy XIV!! and I post this here instead of general gaming due to me only having a Playstation 3 atm...

Played a bit of the first level, it's fun but I preferred Modern Warfare 2. I'll play more later on.
 
The only reason I don't give much credit to MW2 is that the MP mechanics lean more to lone wolf type players...
I have always been a tactical squad kind of player. MW2 just was more of a arcade shooter than tactical.
I like my FPS MP to be balanced as such as not all classes can be a juggernaut.
I want my classes to have faults just as much as strengths.
I want classes to compliment each other not just overlap to the point that it doesn't matter
which class you are because you will always be a juggernaut in the end.

MW2 was fun for a lil bit, but it isn't the never ending fun I assumed it would be.

and to wrap it all up...
I SHOULD NOT BE SHOT ACROSS A MAP WITH A SHOTGUN AND BE KILLED! Regardless, of perks or weapon modifications! (lol happens alot in MW2)
 
was pissed i wouldnt be able to play this game due to the bug that was bricking ps3's that struck me, 8001050F (something to due with 2010 being a leap year threw off the internal clock and wouldnt let you sign in psn network or veiw/receive trophies). only effected the fat ps3's

they fixed it yesterday and should be getting my copy in a hour or two :D
 
I almost don't want to pick this up just because they ran that gamestop ad (i saw it on gametrailers mostly) of the hick american soilders making the russian soldiers dance around while they shot at them (in game with voice overs). I thought it was the dumbest ad and I just wanted to close my browser every time it came on... that is all.
 
I'm not sure what I should get, PS3 version or PC. Generally I get FPS on PC, but this modern era of gaming so many are made with the console in mind they aren't as good on PC anymore :( well some.

They didn't fix a goddamn thing, it fixed itself. Sony did absolutely nothing, they just lucked out.
 
ranked master sgt. right now i think, 1400~ on the leaderboards. :)

got the #2 guys dogtags tonight. was stomping his whole team. for being suck high rank idk how they lost 4 times in a row (his 211 clan)
 
Found out how to teamkill using the UAV. My life is complete.

Better than a hardware failure where you have to send it back to the company and not have it for weeks only to get one that'll prolly fail again :( (not just zinging Microsoft, I've had to send my PSP in to get fix, though that was more my fault than its fault).

Except that they actually fixed the unit, with the PS3 error, the bad hardware is still in there, and since they did absolutely nothing to it, it'll likely happen again. If you send it in, it's more inconvenient, but at least there's a chance that it won't break down again.

Edit: I'm just going to kill this conversation right now, no one wants to hear this shit again elemmire. All I was doing was correcting someone's erroneous statement that Sony had "fixed" the problem they caused, when in fact they did absolutely nothing and were lucky that it resolved itself after 24 hours. This is not going to be another retarded "my hardware is better than your hardware" argument, let it go, leave it alone.

But it's not a "hardware" problem it seems so much as a "software" problem. I honestly doubt they did NOTHING though and it absolutely fixed itself. I don't really know of Software problems (let alone hardware ones if you still believe it was) that correct itself. I know some news sites reported it corrected itself, but not sure about Sony's official response, haven't checked since it started working. But I'm betting they did something to fix it, even if they might not have realized it. Nothing "fixes itself" in this world.

How is the online on consoles? I've heard from several people the online servers on PC are absolute shit and its hard as hell to connect.

Also shouldnt this be in General gaming?
 
Yes it should be. I can't really speak for the pc version, but console plays online as any other FPS on a console would.
 
i dont notice any lag, cept sometimes with the knife kills, if your nut-to-butt to the guy, it wont register.

i get d/c maybe twice in a 24 hour period, which isnt bad. i dont think you lose your stats for that game if you d/c.

It fixed itself, because there was no patch, no changes AT ALL made by sony. If you looked in to what the problem was at all, it'd be obvious that Sony did nothing at all and lucked out that the issue resolved itself. Sony said to not even turn your PS3 on until they had a patch to distribute, and then it was fixed before they had something to distribute. The problem also prevented the PS3 from connecting to the network, so they couldn't have even silently patched the PS3, since they couldn't connect. They did nothing, don't praise sony for something they didn't do.

The problem was with the chip controlling the clock. It freaked out because this isn't a leap year, when the clock rolled over to March 2nd in Japan, the chip realized the correct date and everything was fixed. That's called fixing itself, since sony did nothing and when the date changed everything became fine. This isn't the only time that the chip causing the problem has had this exact same issue, it's happened on Zune's and some other devices. Sony picked a defective chip to put in their PS3's and they lucked out that it fixed itself.
