BC Place Stadium

Nice. I wish I was at work today, we get a good view of the top of BC Place from our floor.

It only took 7 minutes to totally deflate, apparently. Would've been nice to see in action...

Our poor old stadium, I guess 25 years wore it out, been some rotten weather in the pacific westcoast lately, worst winter I can remember.

Victoria's Arena is called "Save on Foods Memorial Arena". Seriously. What the fuck kind of dumbass name is that?! I guess it's better than Overwaitea Arena. lol.

Yeah that roof was supposed to last around 25 years, I say it did a nice job during it's time. (Thank god it didn't fall while I was working there)

I don't think I've played there, but is it actually built inside an old grocery store?

I ask because I've played in Seattle, they have a similar rink. Except it was actually built inside a grocery arena - you can still see the markings where the big letters belong. hahaha Even the entrance still has the sliding glass doors and everything.

I have a short video clip of it deflating. Was at work while it was happening but Im on Burrard and Pender and theres too many big buildings around to get a nice view.

i sure LOLed

Naw, it was just funded by SoF... they could have atleast given it a better name. It is a pretty new stadium built where our old stadium was. I think they have a set fee you can pay to have the stadium named something else, but that costs a couple hundred grand.

I believe the new roof will be up within a week or so, not 100% positive though. Just speculation from hearing news on the radio...

Is there a good website with all the different sports teams and their scheduals in Canada? This recently became more important to me, now that I ran into someone who decided to declare the Bluejays play 3 days a week, every week, at their home statium, all year round.

Something about that doesn't seem right and I need a better source, since I am not familiar with any of the leagues.

Sounds like a load of crap to me. www.sportsnet.ca is the only site I might recommend. They've segregated the Sportsnet overlord into about half a dozen zones (SN Pacific, SN Central, SN Eastern etc) so you'll only see the sports-related news and events in one zone at a time.

In your case, if you want to shove something in his face, you may be better off to look for an annual schedule of the SkyDome.
