I tried my first two BCNM's last night. Whm/Blm, Drg/War, Rng/Nin going with the Jellies and the Bird in the Palborough Mines area. BCNM 30 and 40. Let's just say, we barely lost the jellies one and the birds one, without a Paladin to use Cover we got jacked up. So we got crushed both times. I lost 70 seals, but I understand WHM isn't the best selection for these. I feel like I suck because the ranger hardcore belittled me. RL friend, first time for me doing BCNM's. -.-;; Eh' well, maybe next time.
 
I had a WHM while doing both of those, I think we went in as WAR,BLM,WHM for jellies and we barely made it all 3 times
 
DRK/NIN, SAM/WAR, WHM/BLM we own up on the jellies everytime. I think the last 5 times we did this BCNM we got the Archers Ring twice and never saw the Queen Jelly. Seriously, Royal Jelly is the easiest BCNM ever.
 
Are you guys serious? Jellies has got to be the easiest BCNM of all time. I've gone Drk+Drg+healer never even come CLOSE to losing.
 
Well, that makes me feel worse -.-;; I couldn't beat the easiest BCNM >.>;;

Nah the easiest bcnm is The Charming Trio at Giddeus lv20 bcnm its a pastime of InnerCircle to do this with each other.

The cash isn't bad either, manny hands always drop, head rarely and some 3-4 10-40k items.

It can be done with any melee, and smn. Blms and whms and stuff don't fare well, rdm has been done before with melee. Its possible to duo it with smn. Not the most rewarding of all bcnms but easy and reliant for cash flow.
 
Yeah, Royal Jelly is a pretty easy win. 2 melee and a healer is my preferred setup; we did about a dozen runs many moons ago and won every one. Never got anything good mind you, but it's definitely a melee- and whm-friendly bc.

Charming Trio is deffinatly not the most rewarding and deffinatly not as easy as F8, [Ctrl]+a. Royal Jelly can be done by monkeys. Just next time you do it drop the BLM and get some DD.
 
Let me break it down...

For melee, its sorta hard since they have to deal with the stat drops from the leeches. They need about 4 hi pots. One vokes from the left and the other from the right, when hate is secured then the smn(if applicable) 2hrs then the melee keep hate and when the second 2hr hits they are fried.

For smn you don't need to worry about stat drops since mp+ is all you need, your just firing off Ramuh Shiva or Ifrit 2hr on them.

I'm always the smn so you know:) silly melee. I was close to doing royal jelly and im told you kill as many as possible before queen forms if so your dead.

I've won Royal Jelly at least a dozen times. Seen the queen only once, when my laptop died right when we went in and I logged back in with the queen almost dead and my team... completely dead. Jump, swing, victoly. Very lucky with that.

Was the WHM binding the jellies at all?

I've done this probably close to a dozen times as whm. I usually buff including blink/stoneskin run in and diaga one of the closer one's so that the melee can start on either side without hate from neighboring jellies. I keep barthundra up on myself and stand in the middle...I keep a couple of them bound and erase the melee if they get bound themselves.
 
The key to Royal Jelly is to have the mage, no matter WHAT KIND OF MAGE IT IS, bind like crazy.

The preferred option is definitely red mage, for higher enfeebling (plus access to gravity), but I think anything could work.

Also, don't get cocky: bring juice and au laits ... fully expect to Convert once. Bind has a fairly long recast timer, so spend your in-between time healing the DDs, and debuffing the individual jellies as they fight them.
 
Wings of Fury is easy as hell if you have a good beast master. Ive dont this with my LS 4 times and gotten 2 ring drops. As long as the BST is good and can charm one of the furries, then its all cake.
 
you need good chr gear for that i tried that maybe we didn't win because there was a glitch and our war couldn't get thru i had to tank 3 mobs with the whm spamming cures on me lasted about 2-4 mins then i died then the whm died. the more chr the easier the ride
 
Yeah idk what our bst uses as far as chr but he eats a taco and usually gets charm on first or second try.
 
Royal Jellies is even easier than some say. I have done this one so many times with war/nin, rng/nin and any kind of healer. Never needed juices, potions or convert. The key is to have one person run in first to get all magic aggro and then just go to town. Then the healer only has to heal, let's say the war, and all is golden. Never even got to the queen a single time.
 
How could you possibly lose to the jellies?

The one time I've seen the Queen Jelly was when I was going as whm/blm, forgot what the second person was going as, but the third was going as pld/something and noticed after entering the circle that he had brought a level 41 sword XD
Mid-fight he noticed he had a warp cudgel and used that...

We failed to kill the last princess jelly in time, but even with the queen jelly spawning there was no problems at all.

I've done this BC so many times that I've lost count, but I don't think I've seen Archer's ring drop once...
