I have a question.

A while back, I was in a party with a few friends and we invited a seeking RDM to the party. Upon invite the RDM was suprised there was a BST in the party, and was interested in seeing how I would perform. However, he also had this to say:

"Wierd, I thought Beastmasters had reduced accuracy, and that's why they aren't good in parties?"

I was sort of stunned, I'd never heard this before and I immediately refuted it. We went on to party and we did wonderfully, lots of exp and no deaths.

Present day I am a level 66 Beastmaster, with a fully leveled WAR sub and good gear. However, when parsing myself I find that I can't seem to break 70% average accuracy on IT mobs. Even if they con low evasion that seems to be the only accuracy I can achieve.

My current gear:

Haubergeon
Tungi
Balance Buckler
Royal Guard's collar
Battle Gloves
Spike Earring
Coral Earring
Venerer Ring
Sun Ring
Feral Ledelsens
Royal Knight's breeches
Life Belt
Amemit Mantle

That equipment affords me +33 accuracy from gear alone, and I usually use sushi.

The problem is, with +33 accuracy and then sushi on top of that I should have a much better hit rate. I've seen other jobs pull off an 80% hit rate with a similar accuracy build that I use (Though they were using sushi same as me).

While I don't necessarily believe the person from a few months back who said BST have lower accuracy than other jobs, it has made me consider it instead of immediately dismissing it as misinformation from lack of research.

I'm working hard right now to replace a few peices of gear with better versions (Replacing the Spike earring with an Assault earring, replacing that Sun ring with a woodsman). Hoping that they will make a difference (Hopefully bring up my accuracy to at least 75%).

Are there any tips you fine fellows can afford me? I thought my gear was pretty good, all things considered, but judging by my accuracy (or lack thereof) it is difficult to say that now.

PS: When I WS I swap in this gear:

Gigas Bracelets
Sun Ring (for the Venerer, I leave in the other Sun ring)
Spike Necklace

This affords me a decent load of STR+ without sacrificing in accuracy. I do decently with WS damage, nothing special, but it gets the job done. Rampage can hit from anywhere between 150-600 damage (Depending on how much I wiff, double attack going off, and if any defense buffs are on the mob).

Same here, but I wonder sometimes, when my accuracy gear seems to be doing anything but giving me accuracy.

I've never noticed anything drastic about my accuracy, and as it stands, I'm getting by with no ACC+ gear. Though, it wouldn't surprise me if we had reduced accuracy. We are 'gimped DDs' so there's nothing to say we don't have gimped ACC to go along with it :/

I've heard of that before, and I'm wondering if it's true or not...I mean, I got +29att and +29acc (really need Jaeger ring ;.; ) and use sushi, and a LOT of the time, my Rampages won't even break 200 on T-- mobs...and criticals alone do up to 130, normal hits 40-70 (additionally I have +2% critical meritted). Seems kindof weird that with sushi (which I think caps at +31acc, so I'd have +60acc and it's low eva BEFORE food...) I'd still miss 2+ times each time I WS and such.

What's your +DEX set up? Not that I've tested much, but it always seemed to me that if I didn't add up some DEX, all that extra ACC didn't help much.

Replace your +STR rings with +DEX and see if that helps.

They do, sadly. It's not up to scale with the DRK accuracy issue, but it's totally there. Being a Taru and having this totally sucks. rofl

Thats why settler's Cape is so awesome for Bsts.I'm selling one btw

I'd get that cape in a heartbeat, if I weren't ten levels off.

Besides getting another +acc ring I would say for the most part you look pretty good. I have come to the conclusion that +5 acc = 3% increase in accuracy, or somthing very close.

Your natural accuracy is based off the weapon "skill" and your DEX. If you are fighting ITs you may want to consider not swapping in STR equipment for it. I know for IT++ I would keep +ACC equip equiped full time, that will help your WS accuracy on rampage.

Through the lvls you are going through, my static chose to exp on high VT mobs, and we (the DD) were constantly around 85-90+ % acc. The IT's may be what is hurting you. I think you should try getting an exp pt again except try high VT mobs and see your results.

Try and tough it out until Thick Gear. That will gain you a few more ACC in the legs, head, feet slots. This will help you considerably.

Each job does seem to have its own innate accuracy modifiers, to some extent.

You could try subbing DRG - I'll let you borrow my Wyvern Earring if you wanna try this - for accuracy bonus and jump. You'd have to change weapons though since Tungi only works if you have double attack to begin with. Granted, you'd lose double attack and berserk, but if it does boost your accuracy (accuracy bonus JT is +10), it might be worth checking out.

Then again, you probably don't have DRG leveled. ; ;

i've never had an issue with accuracy. Just remember that if you load accuracy without balancing with -emnity you will pull hate easier while solo.

especially if you're using high damage weapons or /nin or you've meritted axe. With meritted axe, its easy to hit hard and often enough to steal hate off EM korrigans on Goobbues without using accuracy food.

There is no hidden effect on the Tungi. I'm not picking on you Tag, but this rumour has been blown far out of proportion. Tests have concluded that Tungi does not, by any means, increase Double Attack rate. You're still looking at a base 10% with /WAR, or 12% with WAR main and boots.

That said, I'd consider your DEX as well. It's been speculated, and I put emphasis on that since there's no definitive proof that I know of, that acc & dex share the same relation as atk & str.

Acc / Atk = X
Dex / Str = Y

Imagine a room (I know that must difficult for you Lecan, but I have faith in you man). Variable X = how high you can jump. Variable Y = how high the roof is. If you find yourself jumping high enough to touch the roof, you need to make the roof higher.

Tungi only appears to increase DA rate because of it's delay. Ofcourse you're going to see slightly more double attacks over the course of a fight when you're swinging slightly more often.

I havn't noticed any changes lecan buddy. Then again, I always thought accu was overrated, but I'm spec more towards dex and str anyways when out of chr gear.

I don't think it will ever really be a problem solo... on the rare occasion we fight ITs its almost always because they blow themselves up, so you don't want to be anywhere near them.

It's hard for a normal EM pet to keep hate on an IT too, and ITs make a mess of you if you pull hate...

the situation i was thinking of was
bst/nin solo on T~VT Dolls w/ DC (72~74) Birds in Gardens
bst/nin solo on T+ lizards w/ pucks DC~EM in den of rancor
bst/nin solo on T+ goobbue w/ korrigan DC~EM in boya
bst/nin duo on VT dhalmel w/ DC~EM rabbits in bibiki

I've noticed when I got 61 sam/rng and had about 40 acc from gear, 2 acc bonuses from my sub, and I used Squid Sushi +1.
Super Ribbon
GM Uchigatana Until Zanboto +1 was bought.
Merman Gorget
Haubergeon
Federation Tekko
2x Sniper Rings
Life Belt

From experiece on 90%+ hit rate DEX is better than acc if you have the right set up in gear, just as str is better for certain jobs than att. >_> Its sometimes not better to hit alot for a little than to hit for a lot and hit a little lol. Of course I did change my gear after I found out 2 acc bonuses and Sushi is enough acc.

not
true

Fuck yes I think bst acc sucks im only a lvl 24 bst for the reason that died 6 times in a row and delvled the same way. I Get a T or a VT down to 2 hits I have the best acc gear a 24 bst can have and I eat tuna sushi (I recall tuna adds 12-13% acc and chr). I get the T or VT down to 1-2 hits left and I miss 8-11 times in a row im elvaan I know we dont have the best acc but damn. I got so frustrated I quit bst but I kept all my main charming gear and a few other pieces. So I would believe bst have some of the worst acc out of most classes
