Beastmaster and Skadi

Yeah, maybe it's just me, but I don't see 3 lousy points of Strength shy of Monk as being a painful injustice.
 
Finding lvl 75 stats is proving to be difficult lol, they have starting stats everywhere like its some big deal though....
 
My BST's base STR is the same as that of my RDM, if they're using the same sub. I kept waiting for the BST to surpass the RDM but I don't think it even equalled out until 74 or 75.
 
Anecdotal evidence is one thing, but if its possible, please link to some threads with some parses vs CC. I really would like to see how much more funguar can do with maxed affinity and AF2 gloves.

I don't know what the base STR of a MNK is, but i'm already at 3 or 4 more base STR just on my 66 WAR. I'm at work right now so I can't check. It doesn't really matter anyways since attack is more important than STR for TP gain and bergressor plus double attack is what makes a WAR's rampage shine.

I wouldn't be suprised if SE gave BST that shitty armor because they thought too much DD gear (Ares) would cause the BST to steal hate from pet constantly. But yea, it does suck, feel sorry for you actually.

More than likely they just had bst/drg/pup leftover written on some notecard on their desk and were like ".... so where the hell should we put these guys?"

I don't know about bst really, but the skadi is awsome for thf, why would it be bad for bst?

just take the body, its a dragon harness+2 merged with a palluwan khazagrand, not to mention +8 CHR that is a dancing edge modifier i heard.

There is always those thieves that will say hecatomb is better, which i disagree with. Ipt with hecatomb thieves, if its better, its not obvious lol. and hecatomb is only good for weaponskill swap, and if you sub warrior. no point in having all this STR if your atk is 372 ( /nin). I'd rather have +40 DEX than +40 STR. Now the whole set increases critts hit as latent effect, and gives more atk and accuracy than the gear I use atm.

The only thing skadi set lacks is enimity really, which is important for a thief.

Because the entite Skadi set specializes in AGI (useless for BST) and DEX (nearly useless for BST). It's secondary features are +r.acc (VERY useless for BST - we get no ranged abilities except throwing) and +chr (only good for gearswap at best)

Skadi's Visor - DEX+4 AGI+4 Attack+6 Ranged Attack+6 Haste+3%
Turban is better, EHead is about as good. Entirely useless to BST.

Skadi's Cuirie - DEX+8 AGI+8 CHR+8 Accuracy+10 Attack+5 Ranged Accuracy+10 Ranged Attack+5 Evasion-10
Osode is better for Charm and actually easier to get. Assault Jerkin and Hauberk are both better for WS or TP gain for BST. Entirely useless to BST.

Skadi's Bazubands - STR+5 AGI+5 Attack+10 Ranged Attack+10
Barely better than Sipahi, Hecatomb are entirely better for WS. This piece is decent for TPing in at best, and even then Dusk Gloves are obtainable with MUCH less effort. Semi-decent, but debatable if it's worth the effort.

Skadi's Chausses - Accuracy+4 Attack+5 Ranged Accuracy+4
Ranged Attack+5 Store TP+7 Haste+2%
These are actually pretty good for BST for TP gain, possibly the best piece of the entire set for BST. But considering that all they do is allow for somewhat better TP gain, that's really saying quite little in the long run. These're only worth it if you know you have zero shot at a Haidate or the barely-worse, 10x easier-to-get Barbarossa's Zerehs.

Skadi's Jambeaux - STR+3 VIT+3 Accuracy+5 Ranged Accuracy+5
Evasion-5 Increases movement speed
Can be good for TPing and WSing in (though Hecatomb Feet are better, if you have them). The movement speed is a neat toy, but again, these are nearly pointless.



In a nutshell, it's bad for BST since virtually 2/3 of the stats aren't of any use to the job. The ares set gives att, acc, and STR, all of which BST are in sore need of. Not to mention the VIT boost, which wouldn't be bad at all either.

to me the set is totally geared for RNG and COR, and sorta THF, and BST was just thrown in because they were too lazy to design anything else for BST onry XD

But we got Khimaira gear AMIRITE!?!? ....

The feet are the only thing I would say is good for beast and debatebly one of the better pieces for BST WS. Mainly because of the Acc+, my taru RSE feet have more STR but for rampage I would't be against swapping 1 str for 5 acc most of the time, nonetheless....Hecatomb feet.

The leggings are also decent IMO, but after looking at them and thought...Zerehs, just get Zerehs.
