I don't know where this goes so I am putting here. I was wondering if Mithra makes a Good beastmaster. Can someone please assist me.

the person playing beastmaster makes it good, not your race hehe. but to answer... u'd be fine as a mithra bst

Mithra have the lowest CHR of all races, so take that for what you will. Makes no sense to me that our CHR is so low, I mean c'mon, who doesn't like a Mithra?

Erm... Galka Lover?...

Often, you can make up for racial differences in gear. That's not to say that you'll ever be better than the best geared taru or elvaan (they have the highest CHR), but you don't need to. You just need to be able to do the functions of the job without a significantly diminished capacity. In other words, as long as you can get gear to make your charm last/stick, you should do well enough to play the job and then you can work around your limitations. If charm lasts 15 seconds less because of your race or you charm succeeds less often, then make preparations accordingly. Same thing applies to any job really, just make the best of it you can with your given talents and no one should fault you for it.

And Mithra looks sexy in AF so yes, we make the best BST.

I've got that fabled taru CHR, and I still mischarm a hell of a lot more than my mithra duo partner. Don't let race hold you back.

Charm has a set duration time depending on your pet's level in comparison to your own, so mithra's lower CHR doesn't factor into that at all - it only affects having the charm land in the first place. (Only AF and relic gear play a role in Charm duration.) Besides that, CHR is the most overrated of BST stats in most situations. It's not something you want to entirely ignore, but there's no reason to go overboard with it. Mithra's make fine BSTs if they're up to its rigors.

Yah, I have no idea how to play BST at all. I am terrible and the only way I'd survive is with a baby sitter (duo partner or PL, take your pick), it's just not my cup of tea. Thanks for the info though, better to give the OP real info than mine. >.>

I think mithras have the lowest chr of all the races, next Galkas. There are so many random variables in charm I doubt anyone can really tell the difference. When duo'ing with my hume partner there were some days he mischarmed nonstop while I had barely any... but the next day it was my turn to mischarm to no end.

You're on a good server for trying bst though. So many migrated from all over just to make a super bst shell. You'll get the best info here.

Bst (to me) is a love it or hate it job. For me I loved it and would never regret. I hope you do also.

I seem to remember having read that it was due to their high "sense of self." (It might have been even in the lolBrady Guide back when.) An interesting thing to note for the purpose of the in-game universe, at any rate.

But yes, as Neyla mentioned, CHR is a vastly overrated stat. Once you have a Light Staff/Apollo's Staff at 51, you won't be mischarming much anyway, just be careful on Charm-resistant pets such as jellies.

WTF IS THIS BULLSHIT YOU ARE FEEDING HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude mithra BST's fuckin suck. their CHR is the lowest of all races. DONT LISTEN TO THEM!!!!!! you will mischarm 99/100 times on TOO WEAK mobs unless you pump your CHR through the roof. REMEMBER: CHR is your #1 priotiry when charming mobs as BST!!!!!!!!!! forget STR, DEX, Att, Def, Eva and all other stats. think CHR!!!!!!

unless of course the mob is a lesbian and then my friend you got it made no matter what.

No more Starlight Mint Dinners for you, Cat Lady...

I think Charisma is more of how the character acts in general (i.e. attitude, based on how most NPCs act) as opposed to how they actually look. Though this actually seems as though it'd be wrong as well since some races (such as many Elvaan NPCs) actually act extremely haughty, which isn't charismatic at all. So...I actually honestly have no clue what SE is referring to with the CHR stat. =/

All the same, missing 3 or 4 points will very rarely actually show if you try to match up to another BST, so the racial different is pretty meh even at the higher levels. This doesn't mean that you should ignore CHR gear altogether since it does help, and it does add up a bit, but you don't need to fret if you don't have things such as Entrancing Ribbon or Ceremonial Hose since their boost is either replaced very soon with better (Noble's Ribbon comes 3 levels later) or just isn't really worth the cost (Hose costs ~200k for only 1chr)

Might struggle a bit with STR and VIT since both Mithra and BST get incredibly poor stats in both, but then SE gave BST unusually bad melee stats in general - the job gets the same STR/VIT/INT as WHM, less AGI/MND (7, 10 at 75), and very barely more DEX/CHR (7, 4 at 75)

mithra will do you well good luck that job makes me mad sometimes lol

agreed

Apollo's Staff ftw

I leveled BST as a Mithra. I had no problems at all.
