Beastmaster Subjob

To get good experience as a trio you'll need a decent gap between your pets and your prey

Errrrr...
Since XP is based on the highest person in your party, and you won't be XPing with any T pets at any given time, I don't really see what you're referring to with that post. If they run out of pets because they die too fast then they're likely in a bad spot but yeah, jugs would be a viable option in this case...but the gap between mobs and pets doesn't ever decide your xp, only difference between the mob and the entire party.

Also, spots BST solo at (i.e. Dark Aspic/Werebat vs Werebat) generally aren't the same as spots BST trio at (i.e. Dark Aspic/Werebat vs Garm), so you can't really compare mob availability at a spot like Killer Mushrooms (where there's only 5 or so mobs) since a trio wouldn't ever XP there.

I have a pretty good handle on where we'll XP, so I doubt that's a problem.

I did a BST Trio once, and it was plenty of fun. We didn't do a standard solo/duo strat, we followed the mode of a Cannon Party rolling around fighting, charming, and leaving as we made our way. Using this tactic, we were able to keep cycling through pets and prey without too much downtime. I'll also say that this only worked on pets that didn't aggro, since we were generally leaving them in an area they normally spawned in.

I can think of lots of places that offer good a fair amount of pets for a trio. Leeches, IMHO one of the best pets you can get are often clustered (Qufim Island, Boyada Tree, etc). Can you imagine a Trio charming Red kissers? Holy cannoli, good night Colibri.

I agree that charming Toughs is not a common practice, but I did have wonderful success doing so. For example charming tough Date Eruca to Colibri. The birds would get killed so fast, the Date Eruca (usually) didn't have time to turn on me. Like I said, not a common practice for BST, but exceptions are available for those dumb enough (like me) to consider them viable strategies. ;)

...between your pets and your prey. You even quoted it!

Your pet is DC-EM. Solo your prey is EM-T. Small gap. Lots of camps
If you go as a Trio though, and fight EM to toughs you won't get much experiece. (although the last update may have helped that some...)

To get decent experience you'll need to fight VTs and there aren't so many areas that have 6+ EMs that can be used as pets and enough VTs suitable to chain. Most of the mobs in a give area are a similar level. If you have to use the highest and lowest mobs in an area it restricts the number of viable camps by a fair bit...

And this is where the MPK patch screwed Bst parties most royally.

Imagine what it must have been like back in the day for two or three Bsts to hit the Crawler's Nest, grab some lizzies and Killer Mushrooms, and proceed to roam the doughnut room. This killed more Bst camps than I can even begin to name. Bst solo was affected by the MPK patch as well, but nowhere near the level of Bst duo and higher.

If they'd somehow give us the Manticore vs. Raptor/Lizzy camp back in Terrigan, a lot of Bst meriting woes would immediately vanish.

Western troll area in Mt. Zhayolm. Lots of leeches, and a few clots. Lots of trolls.

In reference to the OP.../war is almost never a viable sub unless you're in a party with a tank. You will always grab hate from your pet too easily.

Even at 65+ I have still gotten hate off my pets with /war (I dual-boxed a RDM to cure, subbing war for faster kills). Unless your gear is crap, don't sub /war.

not to completely sidetrack

where is a good place to exp at 32?

Korroloka is about ep to dcish

Solo? 32 was where I first started Bombs in the basement of Gusgen. There are a few Fungaurs (30-32) and a heap of flies (32-35) to use as pets. Everything aggroes, and it very dangerous, but it's nearly capped experience per mob and it's one of the most exciting times you'll have as a BST.

At 32, Bees/Sheep in Lufaise should work pretty good.

At 32, Bees/Sheep in Lufaise should work pretty good in killing you Khidir you silly gimp! HAHA! Since the mobs are nearly all tough or VT you can fail in all kinds of ways!.

fixed....Lufaise is not a good place to exp at 32 it seems like a better place for maybe 34-35ish at least...

I tried it out after first dynamis run...I died 4 times(saw that coming, breathing on bst makes me dlv) bees are t+ t and only one em bee pops with it- sheep, vt, and t+ and t-...

Yes I know you didnt mean to send me to my deaths by excruciating means, it was interesting remember I have all kinds of nice fomor aggro(not in a safe way), and bugards are just so fun to run from^^ (it-vt) this scan was done at 32 i have to go get my lv back tomorrow now at jungle(advice from a bst), if that doesnt work I'll take a death trip to gusgen mines I have plenty of oils so it should work >_>

going to bead and going to get my lv back woohoo it's a bst life!

There are levels on BST where you're not going to find that many good camps and will have to deal with a lot of decent and even prey. Man up and deal with it already, wannaBST. Some levels are pure grind, but then no one ever said things would be easy. There are BSTs in the 70s who'd take the paltry level 32 grind over what they're facing any day.
