Ideal solution would be a TV and Movies board.
 
2) The Flameboard is to be used for FFXI-Game or forum related occurances/issues only. Anything else will be moved to its appropriate section. This includes Joke Threads.

Meeze has a point. If anything that thread is a joke thread and should be locked or moved... not be allowed to grow to 12 pages because hey, the mods find it funneh.

Since most of the people on this board have been going back on forth on the scrubs and house thing, I'd consider that a forum related occurance.

You don't like to follow all the rules... so why are you complaining that someone else isn't too?

So you believe it's a legitimate flame? It's a joke thread clearly - the topic creator was obviously being facetious. Would it not be better suited as an off-topic thread?

There's a fairly large percentage of us that don't really give a shit about either show too, to be honest. I find the constant House/Scrubs bit to be irritating. I suppose if you consider this to be forum-relevant content, at least promise that the ten copycat threads that will inevitably follow in the next month will be trimmed down or something.

It's a joke topic with a possibility that flames could erupt from it. What's the harm in keeping it here? People are going to say Show X sucks, then it 's gonna turn to yo mama sux and on and on.

Because I get banned for bending rules, how fucking stupid are you? How about, I don't get in trouble for breaking rules, I don't bitch at you morons when you let rules go unpunished.

There are rules you don't get in trouble for, and rules that you don't, how idiotic is that?

I didn't even flame when I got banned, I just posted a pic of a player with shitty gear sporting a BoL pearl and said anyone can get into BoL so everyone who wants should apply.

I never said they were a bunch of gimp idiots so if you have gear like this guy, join up.

All these rule threads go right over your moronic brain, and it's hard to understand why.

Player A breaks a rule and gets temp banned for breaking a rule, the mods have been looking to temp ban him anyway.

Player B breaks a rule, but the mods like the thread so they don't care.

You've even complemented a flame outside of FB, sending mixed signals to me about what I'm really supposed to do. Keep entertaining you or quiet up.

On top of that thread I brought up, there was already a thread about it.

If the mods go out and publicly say "yes, there's favoritism" then we can't argue with that, as this forum is a private one, but from everything I've heard and seen, the administration tries to treat the forum as if it was a "public" forum that promotes fairness in treatment.

If the administration want to ban every user with 3 vowels in their name, or have "ban day" where people are banned for any reason, or give differenet degrees of punishment for the same violation to different people then that's their right to, just can't claim to treat everyone equally without favoritism.

Crossposted. The mods, as a whole, as a team, need to be fair and impartial, or stop pretending to be entirely.
 
I'm still waiting for the okay to start enforcing every rule that we have on these boards. Can't wait to see how quiet it gets after that. lol
 
Except no one is saying to enforce *every* rule.

We are saying that the rules you do enforce, should be enforced equally to the entire user base, or stop pretending to be so fair and balanced.

Its not our duty to enforce the rules though. You decided to take the job of mod/admin and now you have a duty to do. If you don't like it, then step down and give someone else the job. I don't mean to sound like i'm making your job as a mod/admin easy, i have nothing but respect for you guys. Besides, if we start doing bans off popular/unpopularness, ALOT of people would be banned that have done nothing wrong but have an opinion, or type horribly.

The Peregrine thing is fucked up, I admit. I wasn't aware he had his account here. Going to be honest. If all your doing is teling us to start doing the job that we've been told to do, then I guess we should start from the beginning.

Shyrra, Kelyon, Kage, Rannoch, Neo, and a whole shitload of other people would have to be banned for spamming and derailing.

Meeze, Romper, Garvin, and a shitload of other people would be banned for flamebaiting (even the slightest hint of flamebaiting, cause that's what the rules are, and we have to be fair and unbalanced).

A majority of people would be banned for having more then one account that matches their IP. What's that? You have 2 people in the household? Sorry. We have to be fair and unbalanced in our decisions and since we can't adequately determine if there is truly two of you in the household, then we'll have to ban the account and the sockpuppet.

Do you kinda see where I'm going? Not everything is zomg follow rulez. Gray areas will always exist. If someone is truly pissing you off, send us a PM, and we'll see what we can do to fix the problem.

If it's any consolation, we are creating a new set of penalties that come from the different rules that we have. And we'll have a new list to of names that have been penalized before. That's the main problem we have right now. I'm sure you've heard this before, but with Fly and Elei at the wheel, I think it'll work out.

What more do you want? Frankly, mods keep dropping cause they are sick of the constant whining, so we usually have to get new mods, get them up to speed, and tell them whose gotten what on the boards and it's slightly a pain.

No standard punishment is listed for this. Presumably this would result in deleted posts, and only a ban after repeat offenses. I see no reason why anyone would "have to be banned" for this.

I don't even see a rule regarding this. Again, why is the immediate solution a ban, especially for something that amounts to an "internal memo" or "lurk moar"? If this is written somewhere, I apologize, because I have looked at two rule threads, with no hint of this.

I honestly think you're confusing "enforcing the rules equally" with "heavy-handedness".

That being said, if you truly feel that people have done enough of these things to deserve a ban proper, they should be banned, myself included. Since for some reason you seem to believe that to present such a threatening picture, I'm sure you'll have no problem justifying it when any of those people are banned.
