In regards to "The Road to Aht Urhgan" quest, does it ultimately make any difference which set of items I choose to turn in?

I was wondering if there would be some sort of "better" reward for completing the advanced set versus the beginner set.

no difference between those 3

The only difference is that if you pay the gils, he teleports you immediatly.

Cool, thanks. I think I'll choose beginner. Those items drop like crazy for THF. :)

Well I don't know if it's some strange coincidence or if they've changed drop rates but two friends who chose beginner had a hell of a time getting the magicked skulls to drop in gusgen. I know for a fact one went with TH2. We're talking hours to get one.

I heard horror stories about people trying to get skull in Gusgen because of all the people there. That's why when a friend needed one, Halifirien and I took him to the ruins in West Sarutabaruta since there is probably 15-20 Ghouls in one of the towers.

Sneak you can head to like SSG or something and kill 2-3 sahagins behind the gold door with maybe 1 mage to make it easier. You'll both have a best in under 10 mins of fighting all in 1 place.

Magiked Skull has always been a hard drop from me in Gusgen, maybe it may be my luck. I remember Jayson and I trying to help some people get subjob items few years back, and it took 2 hours for 1 to drop ;\ . Couple weeks back I was helping another person get the same item for subjob and it took about 1 hour before it dropped. But lately I have been getting nice luck with Testimony Drops and Coffer key drops from Castle Oztroja since ToAU release >>; .

LOL that's right. I could just go steal a test from a goblin bandit. ^^

But if I do the SJ items, they are cake. I'm always tossing that crap out, especially bloody robes, since I keel ghosts for cloth.

As far as crowds in Gusgen...Anywhere...This is why I wait.
I hate lines, crowds, excessive competition for anything that is...A game.
I can wait till people chill a bit.

Over the weekend, actually Saturday morning, I saw a 34 COR on. I was like, wtf?!?! TAKE A SHOWER! GO EAT SOMETHING!!! I'm sure he's 40+ now.

I say dont be a puss and do it the big boy way!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I ain't scurred, boy.

I'm sure I'll get into all this stuff. It sounds awesome. But I remember the NPC fiasco, which I only heard of, but was quickly reminded of why I avoid stampedes...I did take great advantage of a few popular farming areas that are normally all but worthless due to too many farmers. And money, I can always use. The areas were empty and peaceful.
I ran into one other guy I know, and he sent a /tell...
"Why aren't you unlocking jobs?"
"I don't like lines."
"Me either."

lol

I'm not knocking people that forge ahead and explore by any means. I respect that mentality in game or in real life...However, I only bother with it in real life. Additional hassles and frustrations, no thanks.

OK, so I have the information...I'll pick. tyvm.

I moved the wrong thread, sorry sneaky! I'll get someone to move it back!

dude sneaky lol you should just outpost to upper hilands or whatever go to the temple and just steal a test take you like 20min lol.

you gotta kill 6 things and do more traveling then to steal one test.

just steal test then go to jeuno talk to the guy, read about advanced option, hit the i dont wana talk anymore option then trade him the test and then zone out of jeuno then next game day talk to him,

I forgot about coffer keys altogether.
Traded a dusty old key...Done. lol

rofl this is so true.. I don't doubt that within a week I'll be leveling rdm with a Cor... and I sorta hope so! These people do not sleep. It's amazing really.

And I am the same, even when I get the expansion, I will happily wait till all the new jobs are no longer "OMG LEVEL IT" to work on the.. Kinda sucks when our tank had to go and I got to choose from blu, blu, cor, pup, blu, blm...
Hmmm...
