once you log in, do you just, out of the blue, get a million tells asking for help?

anyhow, now i know how it feels when i was first starting out. when i needed things done and i couldn't do it alone, and i would just randomly send tells to those high level ppl. yep, it sucks.

anyway, i've helped too many ppl recently (majority for free, and some for a small fee), and that's all i get now. just requests to "help me out". no more "hey, how are you" blah blah blah. like, the only thing they expect you to do is help them when they call. anyhow... i'm just tired of it. once they get what they want... they'll either 1)never talk to you again or 2)keep coming for more.

ok, i'll end my rant. but, anyone else get a million tells for help a day?

I'm proud to announce that, since lvl 1, i have not asked a higher lvl for help except with raises. the closest thing was that i told a guy a chocobo i liked his hat and he got off and gave it to me 0_0. also some random person gave me 4k and a crapload of stuff one day... but i didn't ask for it, he was just being nice.

everyone kept saying "you should ask some lvl 45+ to help you get the magicked skull" i refused to do so... i enevtually did get help, but that was from my betrothed, and i belive he offered to help me.

I plan to do this myself if i have to solo the whole damn way. MUHA!

there are a lot of things that will eventually require a lot of mid-high level range help to be able to accomplish a certain task. hopefully by then you'd establish yourself amongst your peers (ppl you've pt'd with and your linkshell) to help you out. i'm just saying that i get tired of getting requests for help. i really get no "ultra time" to myself and just end up logging off. especially when ppl only befriend you, just to use you later on for help. no thank you.

I do ask some higher level people for help, but these are people that I know atleast somewhat, like ive met them before, or they helped me out with something before.

However, I most certainly dont expect any high level person to drop something they're doing to help me. If they're busy, they're busy. I'm not going to keep bugging them, i may ask later like an hour or two if I havent been able to do whatever it is im needing to do by myself by then. Yet again, if they are still busy, then I have to find my happy ass something else to do or keep trying to accomplish whatever it is by myself.

If they do help me with whatever it is I may require thier help with, then im always greatful, and if theres ever been a time where I forgot to tell someone who helped me "Thank you" in some form or another, i am incredibly sorry. You deserve thanks and appreciation for taking your time to help me. This goes for any high level person that helps a lower level person out with something, they deserve to be thanked. I mean come on.. its common curtisey(sp?).

Go anon for a bit, Ultra.....

Just wander around the new areas, see new things, and just do what you want for a bit.

You're last few posts (here, and on Allah) are sounding pretty jaded, and I'd hate to see you leave because logging on seems like work...

Take some time to relax, and smell the roses....Meow

lol beiro SO true.

As a 70drk i get help askings all the time, hell i even offer if i hear someone just shouting out of the blue and i am bored. Been on the other end, and its hard i know.

Seriously it depends on the high lvl's mood at the time. When i'm pms'ing and really want to go do something for ME, no bitch i'm not gonna come get you your damned mold. But other times i actually go out of my way to find someone who needs dark spark tanked, etc.

Just shrug it off ultra, obviously the reason so many ask for help is your reputation on the server preceeds you. Take it as a compliment and if your not in the mood say so. God knows we cant help everyone who asks, theres not enough hours in the day for that many people

The guy who gave you the hat seems very cool..haha..I want to do that. lol.

Anyways, that's funny....I'm farming in Giddeus and this guy compliments me on the AoE farming I'm doing. Mind you, there aren't many people in the zone in the first place. The people who are there are camping Hoo. But yeah, so the guy then asks, oh, can you help me get some beehive chips because I need to raise fame in windy. I'm thinking....better not be that silly chip quest where you get like 300 gil back for 3 chips.. So I politely told him I was farming and then he said if I could give him my necklaces. Hmm..just give away necklaces, and chips... I don't see the point in farming then..lol. I don't mind helping people as I got help before but it's usually for like fighting dragons, keys, or subjob items. I don't like helping RANDOM people farm. I don't mind helping people I know farm because then it's more like a group event. I thought I'd contribute that.

so yeh, i get home from work, it's 10pm-ish, thought i'd try to get "some" exp to get closer to 71. so i log in, 2 minutes later, "Hey, can you help me with papryus." i go "sorry, just got home from work, i'm tired... like to get some exp before i get some rest." then i go "money, do you have it?" cause i've been short on money and all i see are "JP ONLY". i get a "that's fucked up. i helped you when you were lowbie in the dunes when we partied together." i'm like "do i know you? i don't remember you and you're not on my friend's list." probably got blacklisted after that cause he never replied back after i sent him a few tells. ok so now i'm changing jobs every few minutes to see my luck on ANY parties. none. so i say my "fuck this game, good night linkshell" and log off. i made a few funny search comments tho before i logged.. "I dont understand Japanese. But i'll still party with you. Would you like exp pts?" or "Yeah, let's all sit around Jeuno for 2-5hrs instead of just partying together" and lastly "I can use the auto-translator pretty well. So we CAN still communicate. Exp, do you need it?" ok, sleep... and wake up to a new day ^^ :D

I get tells too often about "help me out" thing. Due to the fact that I own some high level jobs, What ever jobs i switch to I get tell no matter what. There was this summoner (I won't tell the name) I have helped out before. The first time we met, one of my friends actually sent tell to me if I was available to help him get one of the missing avatar for the whisper. Sure I was not occupied so I agreed. The opponent was garuda. First and foremost, this summoner was annoying... telling us to wait because she was behind, well duh first of all at 54 she doesn't know that kuftal 99% of the time is invis only if you want to get through to go to terrigan. She constantly told us to wait every 5min... yeah right as if terrigan is a good place to wait. Anyway, garuda was defeated without problem.

Then I received a tell again that if I can help this smn out for ramuh. Well I needed some quick cash so I agreed. The PT was formed and well duh, my mnk was the tank. Not that I couldn't do it but oh well. The first question she asked was "Where is Boyada"... Alright maybe at lvl 54 she never been to boyada... so thats fine... Then some one tells "Its in ZItah". Then she asks where is that? "In meriphad"... We got a choco from Jeuno and we went to zitah. Now she tells "Wait! I am lost!" Jeezz!!! can't you use the map and follow the dots of your party members? This kind of comment was commonly seen around uh... 10s~20s not 50s... So yeah we all infront of boyada tree while the smn is still taking her time. The whm in the party finally decides on getting her. Took us roughly 30min to get here. Now we go into boyada, and I tell the party to sneak up and tell us asap when it is wearing off... The last thing we want is a train of crabs following us. We went half way to the ramp going to the big opening where the goobues are... and we found the smn staying in one position... She sais nothing and after 15min she sais "I have lag". Soon after she D/Cs. So we wait another 15min... then she comes back and now she sais she needs to restart the computer since its lagging bad. So we go inside the cluster of storm. And the smn tells I will restart the computer. And logs off... We waited THIRTY MINUITS. Before she came back... We defeated ramuh np... and we went all back to our own way. But honestly, A trip that should have taken only 30min MAX turned out to be 2hour...

Now guess what... this smn asked me to help her yet again. By this time my petience were so thing that I haven't answered back. She sent tells like 4~5 more times and sorry, I didn't feel like answering back since I was in the middle of crafting. So I temp blisted her. And removed the blist before bed time.

When I was young, around 10~30s. I begged the LS I was in for alot of things. Mainly it was mission 1~5. But after that I did all my necesarely stuff myself. I got my entire RSE with my friend only dying 9 times in the cursed shakrami as my rdm being 34. I shouted to form a full alliance for my papyrus. Yes I even got to Vazl crystal to obtain mine so that we could do the glacier part. I have done Missions 5-1 and 5-2 via shouts when I was 70 rdm. Yes thats right, I was rank5 till I was 70. Living in Europe makes things hard to organise due to time difference issue from both countries. I did 6-1 and 6-2 also Via pickup group, and we did 7-1 and 7-2 with 4 people when we were 72~75.

I shouted my AF pieces for skill up opportunities in oztorja, and beated 5 rival thieves for my coffer. I also shouted for my AF3 Fei-Yin, and Garliage with full alliance. I got my blm and mnk pieces with just 3 people. I have shouted for my "Asuran Fist" NM, gathering people who were interested and also it turned to a multi WS NM
Tour. I have also gathered up a group of friends and some smns to get my friend's Fenrir when my friend was 71. Before asking high levels you should at the least search for the details of your task, ask around LS for some assistance and finally shout around in jeuno, observing other search comments to find commrads who seek the same thing.

Many people levels quick without understanding basic concepts. People who learns then in the hard way understands and comprehend better than those people who just asks the high level.

P.S. Ingame I pretend that I cannot speak english to an entirely new person. Reason is simple, I am JP yet I do understand english. On party situation, they ask me to ask so and so people to join the party. While this is perfectly fine, when I AM seeking is when I do not WISH to lead or gather people. So many times, some people just sent their leader ship to me... and ask me to gather people. I am tired of this.

i typically dont mind lending a hand, unless they ask "can you help me" and there is no "hi how are you...would you possibly have time to help me out" or even a please added in there. and just like everyone else that gets asked, if you say "no, im busy" they get pissed off and give you their 2 cents worth.
and god forbid that you help them, you will never get them to leave you alone

Hey I stay at a constant "high" level state.

In-game though I am only level 50.

Occasionally my friends ask me stuff like:

"hey can you pack another"

"dude this needs a poke its clogged"

or warnings such as:

"Watch it that shit will blow your lungs out"

they ask for some cash too (not gil)

"Dude I'm gonna make a munchie run gimme some money"

and of course I say:

"Snickers Ice Cream Bar and some cheetos!"

LOL

(way off topic)

Mo..

lol @ mohoso. yeah, um, ok. ^^

hey, shiia... [/poke] i've pt'd with you a couple times. now i can't since you're too high now ^^ weee~

I dont get as many tells for help as a more damaging class however i am the skill up whore. Skill up pt? wheres Ryme we need her madrigals.

Generally however I enjoy helping people accomplish things but under similar rules as Shia. Know your objective, where to go, what to do, what to kill, items needed etc etc etc. I do not wipe peoples asses very nicely with my claws extended.

A lot of being younger was getting alliances of 18 to go take down AF's and quests.. now its all too easy (substitute; the american way here) too just sit back and collect doing the minimum to get the maximum. /shout /shout /shout "oh thanks 75's for killing it while i go pop a squat in teh corner cause i cant hit or damage the enemy at all"

Just know what needs to be done, asking for help is not a bad thing (of a person of any lvl) as long as you are polite and curtious. Dont be a little prick with a rude response if the person says no, last time I checked the world evolved around me not you! 8) JK LOL

im not high lvl and rearely get asked for help. as a lvl 48 rdm im pretty sure i can help most ppl with lower klvl things, but nobody seems to ask me. ; ; sometimes I feel not wanted
