So this person must level for you quite often to have a history of your anniversary ring, stating "it was the last use anyway, wanted to get rid of it, had it too long". I wouldnt trust this person, basically discussing tossing of YOUR anniversary ring, which most likely will be rechargeable next year. The NPC clearly stated that you only get ONE when you got it. If I was playing someone else's character I would never consider tossing anything.
In support of this answer, if you were just randomly babysitting and playing, why would a child know how to use the Anniversary Ring? If in fact you were allowing said child to play the game to pass time (say you were doing laundry or dishes, hey I did it while I babysat, its why I got paid so well), you should have put yourself on a lower job and put your self on 'Online: Away' status so that no one is able to interact with you on your friendlist. I'm sure a 'Well he plays the game too.' defense could come up; but I will counter you with 'Then why was he not playing his own character and instead yours?'
Explainations are needed. Will we recieve them? Most likely not, a 'bounce in the flame and apologize and run' effort was made, that will most likely be all that we see.
First strike is first strike (at least documented), if it comes up again, we know what the truth is. If not, a fluke perhaps.
Might just be me, but thats what I'm chalking it up as.
