On my first besieged one of the first things I though of was the opening CS when I first installed FF, the one with all the behenmoths storming the city.

I then see how current ppl are apporaching besieged now and I think "omfg wtf are you doing". Poeple appoarch it as if there the only pt there and that annoies me. I realize that alot of ppl are still new to it but we need to look at this totaly different. In besieged ppl need to look like it like everyone there is in the same pt regardless of alliance limits, and do whats best for the ppl. Ive seen the undead swarm completely refill life from blood saber because there 30 ppl surrounding him. Not to mention the crazy lag ppl get when theres 50 ppl in the same spot fighting at the same time. Heres my though on a stratagey

WHM - Most likey on the balconies healing and some debuffing
RDM - On the balcony debuffing and refresh some on the battle field for close proc heals and debuffings(dispell)
BLM - On the balcony nukings and for sleepga and debuffing. Against undead however might require a brd instead.
BRD - Few on the balcony most on battle field for buffs and lullaby.
RNG - Few on the balcony most on the battle field. Ones on the balcony would be best with a Xbow and all sorts of bolts for status ailments while battle field rngs will have guns
Tanks - Most on the field and few (mainly pld) on the balcony to protect the mages incase they pull to much hate. Plds on the balcony could assist in healing also
Melee DD - All on the field but spread out enough to prevent lag and aoe dmg from other mobs

Now if a ballte went down like this it would look so beautiful. Ofcourse this all depends on the job numbers. This plan maximizes DD and mob management and minamizes, deaths and mage risk. Since you dont lose xp raises wont be necesary just hp and come back

The problem is, casting range isn't far enough to make use of the battlement and wall really useful.

And in a sense, you do lose EXP when you homepoint. Your reward is based off how much you do, and zoning resets that reward back to 0. Homepointing counts as zoning. However, Raise 1's from a lv75 is a drop in the MP bucket.

Well true but there is a little middle area in al zhib that has alittle balcony also i think ill have to check again

Being organized is golden, but we also got to work with what we have.
The idea of placing mages on balconies can work perhaps in the second zone where all the NPCs have gathered.

The battle area there is great unlike the actual gates where the enemy storms in.

The biggest problem I see is there's 432984738927423897 people at the zoneline, waiting for the monsters. Not only does this cause lag and and give mobs a ton of TP moves, it puts us at a disadvantage. 99.9% of the time everyone dies at the beginning cuz of the lag and the nasty TP moves.

Another thing I notice is a lot of people aren't considering the mobs TP moves. Why do people bother going after Wamoura when there's Trolls being fought? They have an AoE TP Stoneskin move that does NOT apply to strictly Trolls, it hits anything and everything withing a pretty large distance too. When the Trolls attack people really need to take the trolls down first so over half the force isn't hitting for 0 for minutes at a time.

Undead? Keep the Skeles away from the majority of the defense, all the heaviest melees should try and take down Qutrub as fast as possible. Lamias are pretty weak in general I noticed.

Mamool? lolTHFs, god they're annoying. War Wyverns, as scary as they seem to be, are actually the easiest thing to deal with if you think about it. Don't even bother trying to pick on Mamool without Sushi, since they love to spam Warm-Up.
