we have to deal with the outward projection of hostilities against their bodies, being told 'it's YOUR fault' when they're squeezing babies out, and the potential deadliness of long fingernails >.>

that, and the whole 'women are better' crap all the time, and "this is your responsibility" blah blah blah, when its things that arent even remotely supposed to be my business.

If I had my period, aside from being really confused, I'd want to read such a friendly gesture.

What if it said: "Enjoy your period. Prepare to have your loved ones hate you for seven days." Or "If you are reading this, than it sucks to be you."

That would just piss me off.

Fact is, pretty much EVERYTHING can piss women off during their periods.
Cramping, bloating and the necessity of going to the bathroom every few hours....none of that is enjoyable really.

Reading anything pertaining to your period during those ugh days can piss you off lol.

Personally, I'd rather read something like "It'll be over in a few days" or something.

I've found that most women I've been with will get pissed off at any mention of their period, or especially PMS when it's that time. On the plus side, doing something that I normally don't do (at least without being asked) or a simple "I love you" accompanied with a hug out of the blue has a much, much larger impact during this time. The trick is to not make it seem like you're doing it because of her cycle, but simply because you're a nice guy that loves her.

Hormones work both ways, remember high school when you were horny for the slightest reason, and at the same time willing to fight any guy for any stupid reason? Women are like that during their period, somewhat.

You mentioned their period, they go ape shit, and any further mention becomes really retarded,

'Oh, aha, you seen the shape of the moon?'

Deploy the chocolate and RUN LIKE HELL.

My favorite is: *catty response to a question* 'Ohhhh, is it 'THAT TIME' for you this week?' *soon-to-be-dead-person chuckles because they think they win*

Its an excuse that people (men and women alike) use against others. Yes, it is a sore spot (no pun intended) for a lot of women. Your reaction there? Is like completely perfect.

A lot of women go insane, get pissed off about everything or just grumpy. Some of them are weepy and emotional. Personally, I'm one of the two. Grumpy and obstinate or the complete opposite 'Baby I dont feel good, can we cuddle?'. Needless to say, past boyfriends were always hoping for the latter. Its very easy to get me into the cuddle mood with a response very much like yours Stouter. A womans menstrual cycle is something very bad or very easy. Worse for some more than others. They can be extremely painful, sometimes (with certain conditions) bleeding, cramping and bloating for weeks on end. Some, last 3 days, are slightly more cynical and eat a little more haggen das than normal.

As for the messages, I could really care less. Just a mental 'Fuck you guys' would do. Something rather morbid like 'Please dont kill your lover' or 'Put the hammer down' like in the OP, would make me laugh. Though admittedly, I have a rather warped sense of humor.

This also supports my theory that pads are friggin gross.

I remember getting turned on by everything with boobs in high school, but I don't remember the desire to fight everything with a penis.

Poor friend of mine used to get her period every 2-3 weeks. I forget what the condition was called, but it really sucked to be her. The fact that she had red hair (plus the temper that went with it) and was only slightly shy of six feet tall made her that much more terrifying during those times.

Never trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die

lmfao this is just to funny.

I can imagine some cooky message being displayed on some japanese sanitary pads, but not in an English speaking society...

Funny read, women are crazy..!

All I can say, from my entire life of having 3 older sisters, and years of having mostly only female friends, the only "right" thing a man can do for one (two if you're me ; ;) week(s) a month, is fucking hide. Now, this isn't to say you're totally safe by hiding, because you have a pyschotic female to deal with (and something along the lines of "Where WERE you?! I NEEDED you!" to deal with when you resurface) but, you have to realise, you have a pissed off chicky who's off her period now as opposed to a pissed off one who on it. Trust me, you'll come out of it significantly less injured this way. Duck and cover men.

There is no right thing, only a large number of wrong things. Hiding only works if you aren't obvious about it, you need to emerge on occasion to say "Hi," nothing more. Don't say "How's it going?" "How do you feel?" or any kind of question. If she's angry go back to hiding. If she's sad, give her a hug and an "I love you." Any other random mood you can try acting normal (although a lot more cautious) and pretend it's just any normal day.

Rules for PMS, and women in general:
1 - Never say the word PMS, or imply that she has it, ever.
2 - Never provoke anger directed at you, ever. Say "I'm sorry" and sound like you mean it.
3 - If she's mad at someone else, she's not mad at you. Agree that the person is a bitch, asshole, or whatever. She'll calm down after blowing off steam about how much she hates them, hopefully.
4 - If she's sad, comfort her because you love her, even though you are oblivious to her cycle ;)
5 - Think about what you are going to say very, very carefully before you say anything at all. If it can be taken the wrong way, reword it and think about it some more, or just smile and say nothing at all.
6 - If she asks what you're thinking about, say something like you were just thinking about how lucky you are to have her, and how much you love her.
7 - Some women load up on perfume for their period, because there are odors, and she thinks that it's worse that it actually is. Notice it and tell her how nice she smells. The same goes for a new outfit, hairstyle, or any number of similar things.
8 - Chocolate and ice cream are awesome. Go out of your way to let her see you enjoying some, tell her it's delicious and offer her some. Know what types she likes, and make sure that's what you're eating.

I'm reminded of the pictures that some woman drew with her period blood.

:(

*Barf*

She called it her moon blood or something similar... apparently its a time to celebrate for some women.
