For me...oddly enough, Wierd Al Yankovich.

My little sister was obsessed with him when I was in highschool, and she needed a chaperone. I thought that some of his songs were funny and catchy, but (of course) was too "cool" to admit it at the time. (gotta love highschool mentality) Anyway, we got there, and it was definitely what I expected - a NerdFest. The fact that we were girls made us celebrities, which was neat....and creepy. ;) BUT - once the show started, I was imeediately impressed with Al's stage presence. He had great energy, he played to the audience, he got into full costume for almost every song (even the "FAT" costume and AMISH/Coolio wig)....and while he was dressing between tunes - a large screen dropped down to entertain all with "AL TV" - mock interviews with celebs like Ozzy, Paul Mcartney, etc. HILARIOUS>. Anyway - it was a nice surprise, and a great show. My dad knew one of the bouncers, so we went backstage and got autographs afterward. Al was pretty cool - shy...probably real tired.

Anyway - let's hear about your best concert!!!!

Hmmm lets see I cant realy say there is a best but here are some of my favorites.

Slipknot, Mudvayne, Korn, Incubus (pre-sellout), Mr. Bungle, Paul Oakenfeld, Fatboy Slim, BT, Chevelle, Rage Against the Machine (3 times), Beastie Boys, Run DMC (sucked), Marylin Manson (3 times), (hed)PE, Linkin Park, Machine Head, Ramstein, Tool (awsome), Orgy, Smashing Pumpkins (2nd to last show ever), Rob Zombie, Parliment Funkadelic, Dire Straits, Michael Jackson (first concert), Pearl Jam, Ice Cube, Def Leapord, Metalica, Ronie Size, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Caral Cox, and many many more that I cant remember.

As far as favorite concert ever I realy cant say becuase I have seen so many good ones.

LOL Weird Al. That guy's funny.

For me, maybe Stuck Mojo / Machine Head at the Thirsty Whale.
The Whale was fuckkin' bomb.

Ozzfest 97 (I think it was 97) rocked.

So many more I can't remember. Most shows at the Metro are good. Like most people, I prefer a good, intimate venue. I'd sooner see a show at a good venue with a band I didn't like as much, than seeing a show at a venue where it sounds like you are underwater.

Anything where I consumed mushrooms (insane mosher food) was completely nuts.

Well ZZ Top is playing again tonight here and I get to introduce them onto stage. Working for radio has those advantages so its nice.

But I can't really count the concerts I have been to but I have attended a ton of them.

So I will be partying it up at the ZZ Top concert tonight and hopefully showing up to work tomorrow.

THE WHALE, hahahahahaha

Oh man I remember that place. That is the dank dark hole of metal music hell.

My new favirite venue is either the Metro in Chicago, or The Eagles Ballrom/Rave in Milwaukee.

I would have to say best i've been to is GWAR, followed by marilyn manson and henry rollins.

Manson does put on a good show. I would also recommend Ramstein if your a fan of fake bodily fluids, and shit loads of fire and explosions. If that is too much for your tastes, and you are looking for awesome visuals in a show then hands down I have to say Tool is the best.

At the present yeah Tool is awesome!!

but....

I saw the Grateful Dead in 1994 and I must say the "visuals" I was seeing there were top notch. Then again, that was 3 caps and a stem later so...

yeah the visuals were good that day.

Thanks, if you can't tell I am a big fan of live music. Being in Chicago helps a lot because everyone comes through here.

I don't get the oppurtunity to see lots of bands, but hands down the best one I've seen live was Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, followed by Rune, Cephalic Carnage, Burnt By The Sun, Dysrhythmia, Exhumed, Pissing Razors, and Eric Sardinas.

I have been to Led Zepplin at the United Center and Pearl Jam at Soldier Field. Both concerts owned.

My list

Van Halen, Beach Boys (first concert), Megadeth, Pantera, Korn (3 times), Metallica, Danzig, Suicidal Tendancies, Type O Negative, Ozzy Ozbourne, Brother Kane, Pearl Jam, umagod I am missing quite a few...

Anyway the best concert was probably Pantera. They tore the place up...literally.

The best concerts that I missed were Tool and NIN. NIN cancelled because we got a foot of snow the day of the concert. Tool's show was sold out before I got any.

And I love Techno as well but being from Smalltown, USA - we don't get much club action down here... I love all kinds of music actually but I was a huge metalhead back in my concert days.

NIN is the one group that I still need to see at least once. I have been a fan of theirs since 92 and have never been able to see them for one reason or another. Thankfully Trent is in the studio wrapping up his next album and will be on tour in 05.

David Bowie and Alice Cooper top my fave concerts...damn they were good. At the Alice Cooper concert the drummer did a 15 minute drum solo with his drumsticks on fire...I nearly shat myself.

REALLY Looking foreward to Muse on October 25th though :D

Here we go....best concert I've been to was Kottonmouth Kings in early August. The concert rocked and I got to meet a couple of the guys in the band. :)
