"There's" implies only one and arguing about war/sam vs war/nin in merit is sort of silly when we're talking about endgame and when we consider the topic. After all, War endgame isn't just pure DD like merits and even in the case of merits /nin is pretty invaluable as far as helping the chain along.
Redshift was the one who brought meriting into this, actually, by saying a.) PLD/NIN can parse with WAR/NIN (which is an outright lie), and b.) His WAR/SAM outparsed a very well geared WAR/NIN (which is irrelevant).
Frankly, my DRK/SAM can outparse his WAR/SAM any day of the week. The fact that I'll need a full-time support crew of dedicated healers to pull it off should be taken into account, however. Much like WAR/SAM can outparse WAR/NIN most times (particularly on high-evasion mobs, like, say, the mamool originally mentioned) tends to leave out the fact that that WAR/SAM can often be either crippling chains through excessive damage taken, or forcing the /NIN members of the party to reduce their damage and cover him with Provoke.
That and one must also take into account the fact that some players are simply awful, no matter how well geared they are.
Now that we're done dealing with the odd attack on Jamal, rather than his position...
PLD/NIN is pretty much the standard for endgame these days, but that's an over-generalization. Dynamis is /WAR, Limbus is /WAR if your shell has decent DDs and you're not fighting bosses or kings (and you use PLD), HNMs are /NIN (except for kited mobs), Sky is /NIN most of the time, but hardly essential with decent support, Sea is a mixed bag, Nyzul generally doesn't require PLD, and so on.
And Tacos are still your best overall defense food.
Oh, and attacking grammar... "There's" vs "There are" is a fairly common mistake, particularly in spoken english. It's on par with me pointing out the lack of proper punctuation in your post.
