Best One Yet... LOL Faytajr... Communist?

No welfare makes me laugh. I swear at least 30% of the Us makes their living off welfare checks. Its a waste of my tax money because alot of those lazy bums either dont really need it, or dont try to get a job.

Why exactly should anyone pay for healthcare? If i were to get hit by a bus tomorow, and ended up having to stay in the hospital for a week, i'd walk out of there not having had to pay a penny. And would have recieved all necesary treatment, not just to keep me alive, but so that i leave as healthy as possible. In the U.S.? I daresay what that would have cost. Broke my arm doing a stupid thing on a snowboard (true story)? Show up in the Emergency room, sign in, get treated, out in a few hours. 0$
You answered your own question. To encourage people to not do stupid things just because they won't have to pay consequences. The US has a capitalist system, you have your choice on what to spend money on. If you want to be stupid and get yourself hurt (such as smoking), you choose to pay for your medical bills. Why should everyone else have to pay for your choices? Yes, medical care is nice for those too poor to afford any, but medical care for everyone? That's just encouraging waste. When you know a trip to the doctor is going to put you out $150 you aren't going to waste the doctors time for a stubbed toe.

And don't kid yourself into thinking Canadians aren't paying for medical care. They do, but its called extra taxes. The result is they pay more in taxes for it than they would if everyone paid their own way. Trying not to flame Canada, but don't call it free.
Think he ment to say University books
If he did, then he is lying about selling them back for near purchase price. You are lucky to get 1/4 to 1/3 your money back on college books from bookstores unless you sell them online through places like amazon or ebay.
Which have we started.
Depends on perspective. Just like all schoolyard fights, the other guy always started it.

Economics are fun!

TANSTAFL

There ain't no such thing as free lunch. Somehow, in one way or another you're probably paying for all that free stuff. ; ;

I love America, I like Canada. I have no beef against either place. =p I agree with Sabs, why can't we just leave it at that?

We really need to work on medical insurance for the masses in America Rones.

Don't act like it's fine the way it is. It isn't.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that great in Canada either. The best doctors are in America because they make more money.

It's just a case of getting what you pay for.

The thing I hate about our medical system is the fact that pharmacutical campanies are allowed to advertise for drug that you have to have a perscription to obtain. What kind of sense does that make?
