best snes rpgs?

[Excalibur]

I've never played Super Mario RPG, what's it like? Is it turn-based combat? Is there leveling up and buying new weapons and armor and spells and a world map and all that fun shit?

I like Ogrebattle: March of the Black Queen. Long ass game though. Rudra no Hihou is a very awesome game made by SE (Squaresoft back in the day).
