Beta testing

They may announce more Alpha sessions on Monday... D:

No date given for Beta start but I’m sure they’ll be adding a lot more testers.

it was so long ago cant remember if it was on the official site or not that recommended it, but i also have crap luck when it comes to getting important things on my hotmail so i tend to send the more important things to my isp mail, i just dont check it very often. Really kicked myself for it. But now that im past the sadness, i'm really excited and happy for the beta. I get to finally break my i7 processor in and get back into an MMO. Though i vowed this time to be more moderate of how much i play. But...beta doesnt count. I'll play as much as i can! i just hope that the release isnt too far behind the beta ending if i end up liking it.
 
Alpha's been and gone, the lalafell's been nuke-arued. From what I've seen on assorted websites they're looking at a monthish to beta. Hopefully mixed regions this time because the segregation sucked for EU early importers of XI who'd ended up with NA POL accounts, NA SE accounts when the tokens came out and 1am to stupid o'clock testing slots (yes I'd quite like my husband back please SE). I know the Aussies were also suffering with it as well.
 
Are you beta testers paying the monthly fee while testing, or is it an official invite to play and test for free? Just curious if the fee will be the same or higher than ffxi was.
 
Beta testers don't pay a fee, that would be a chump move on SE's part.

Expect the Beta between July 8-July 18 unless there's some surprising delays pushing it back a week.

yeah beta is free, and im sure XIV will be about the same as XI, 12-15 bucks a month is pretty much the standard for MMO's

They've been quoted saying it would start in July. Where did you find this client? Is it available for anyone to download? Can anyone not confirm nor deny they have received an official Beta invite? That would be a good indicator of how soon Beta will actually begin.

Actually,
I think, I think, I just found the answer to my questions because someone was being bitched at for disclosing that information, lol. It's not open for free download, and beta testers have probably already been contacted via email with the information. Get this closed Beta underway, that way we get to the open beta sooner. :spiteful:

Client is now available to download, assuming it doesn't crash constantly like the alpha client did.
 
And the beta begins on the 10th, apparently, and will have a similar schedule to that of the alpha test.

Ugh.

I did not like the alpha test schedule.

Lol - I would like to applaud those of you who made it through square's registering process to get into the beta testing. Their website is like navigating through .. something very difficult to navigate. When I was signing up I was sent to about four different places to enter in different information and confirmations and I suddenly just gave up. I really would have liked to do beta testing, you guys all earn cookies.

I know what you mean, I also found their account and registration systems incredibly over complicated and redundant.
 
The alpha schedule is only phase 1 of the beta, phase 2 is constantly up, phase 3 is not confirmed but possibly open beta until release so long as the first 2 phases go well.

I read on FFXIVcore interview that beta will have 3 phases itself, not including alpha. Which means opening today is beta 1, then beta 2, then beta 3 and if they can, have open beta.

not what i meant, phase 1 goes by the alpha schedule, only being available on certain days, 4 hours at a time, first being tonight. phase 2 will be 24 hour servers constantly up, and in the interview he said if all goes well in the first 2 that the 3rd will be open beta till release date.
 
Yeah. Both me and my girlfriend got selected too. Sad thing is, the benchmark says we can't run it, so...
 
Just got an invite. My settings on my computer are so crap I don't even know if it'll run...
