Well, to be fair to Mikezon, it was more like two YEARS ago than two weeks.
That aside, it's a shame that a good chunk of the flames he turned up in are no longer available (some were on the Sculli-creepy-cult era "Burning Circle" board). The fact that we can no longer refer to them have given some people short memories, I think ... either that, or they never really read them at all.
It wasn't just vague reports of him being something of a n00b, which is the sort of thing that can be so readily dismissed as "lol-old."
He really did MPK his own party. He really did steal, and try to pass the whole thing off with some cock-and-bull story about how it was really his "brother" playing (a situation in which even if you believed the cover story, the fact that he NEVER BOTHERED TRYING TO RECTIFY the sin speaks for itself). What's more, in at least ONE thread (Chimy's), his eventual showing up at QCDN wasn't to clear his name, or defend himself ... I don't know how many of you actually remember, but he seemed to revel in his role as a villain. He admitted to everything, cackled about how much he enjoyed doing it, and openly mocked those that felt the sting of the chaos he left behind him. This was along with his equally prickish friend "Ants." Perhaps Ants is the mystery "brother," I don't really know, nor do I really think it's relevant.
Assholery like that doesn't soon "wear off." Participate in events sponsored by this guy at your own risk. It's perfectly alright to say this, and any attempt to downplay the validity of such a warning would be ill-advised.
For at least one person defending Mike in this thread, whom I respect very much, I suspect that most of what is being said comes from heavily-tinted" l0lz he mah frend" glasses. I suspect that Mikezon could MPK half off of Whitegate and make off with 20 pieces of relic armor, and he would still be here to try and dismiss such things. That's the mark of a good friend, and such loyalty isn't entirely unadmirable ... but still, understand that this is where the desire to pull the rug out from this warning thread is coming from.
Mikezon may indeed be a reformed player, but back then, he was a turd. He has friends, well-respected ones, people I like -- but he himself seemed to have a major selfish streak in this game. I am not at all convinced that he's "grown out of it," regardless of the fact that he hasn't really been in the spotlight for a while. It's perfectly alright to want to give second chances ... just do so while being fully informed.
