BF 2142 Tech support needed!

So I got bf2142 for X-mas

Was playing it earlier today just fine. I left the server I was on for another. Then once I got into the new server my mouse was locked right in the middle of the screen. Also my keyboard becomes non responsive as well - meaning when I push Esc the main menu wont come up.

Things I've tried to resolve the issue thus far:
Rebooted PC - Fail
uninstall / reinstall - Fail
Updated mouse drivers - Fail
System restore - Fail
Made sure sound card drivers were up to date - Fail

Also note - I have tried swapping USB ports and using the USB to p2 adapters

Not that I would expect that to fix it - The mouse works 100% fine up until the map loads and I hit join game - It brings me to my kit screen and the mouse is right in the center and wont move.

If anyone plays the BF games and has ever encountered this error OR has any ideas at all. Please help ^_^ When I get off work I might call EA tech support - save me from outsourced India PLEASE
 
I haven't run into this problem before. I assume you are since you can't really play without it, but are you updated to 1.10 for 2142? Pretty much only thing I can really think of.
 
Yea running latest patch. - I asked on a few other forums and a guy ran into the same issue on BF2.

He suggestest that I reset my controls to default - I havent done any mods to the controls but I am hopeful that this will fix it. He described the exact same problem that I had, MAYBE ill be working on upgrading my kits when I get off work!
 
check your registry, i had a problem in the past where a game messed up my registry and i had 0 use of my mouse and keyboard in most instances, sadly the only thing you can do is load a back up of your memory if your the kind of person who smartly backs it up at least once a month,
if not youll need to browse the net for a fix of the correct registry keys or the ultimate and reformat to fix the problem.
its an annoying problem that is very rare and it looks like yours is limited to one program so its not that bad, mine was my whole pc >.>
 
I was having connection problems while playing earlier, so I rebooted. Now my ps2 mouse isn't working. Not sure if it's related, but now I have an excuse to install my copy of Vista.

Edit: Well I installed Vista and it was working fine for a little while, but then stopped. There's either something wrong with my PS2 port, or my mouse. USB mice work for me though. Odd.

Yea I fixed the issue, I never bothered to check but for w/e reason In my controls menu in BF all my keys where disabled mouse keyboard the whole sha-bang!

Hit restore defaults and bam worked lol
 
I need to get BF2142 soon, I loved BF2 to death, such a fun online play experience, I can only guess 2142 is even better :D
 
Yeah I played at my friend, offline in a mech, I was running around just blasting everyone to pieces.

Definately gotta get it now :D
 
There are reasons I like 2142 more than BF2, but there are also reasons I like BF2 more than 2142. My main thing is that I got really good with flying the helicopters in BF2, and I liked the more realism to them compared to the ones in 2142 that are uber easy to fly. I guess the main thing I like about BF2 over 2142 is the more current realistic feel to it. 2142 is way fun while playing Titan mode though.
