Bioware is making a.. Sonic RPG?

Hopefully it'll be a fun RPG.
I wonder what the approach will be.

They could make it a serious Sonic game, with a solid & epic storyline; or go with the wacky semi-serious feel like current Sonic games are.

If they draw on the comics, I can see them pulling out quite the storyline... (presuming they dispose of 80% of the filler stuff)

Still, Bioware + Sonic RPG = *head explode*

It's a weird combination, but I'm a huge fan of BioWare RPG's ever since I bought NeverWinter Nights. I doubt it'll be a huge and epic storyline, but I'm interested in the gameplay and skill system, Sonic with D&D ruleset?

Red sneakers of haste, +5 to Spin Dash.

わああああああああ!!!
This is so cool. I love Sonic. My son seems excited about this too... Wonder if there will be co-op...

The idea of a Sonic RPG sounds horrible to me but they picked one of the best RPG developers to do it, so maybe it won't be so bad.

Watch "Sonic Team" get their hands on this game and screw it up.

.... Shadow The Hedgehog... Sonic Riders... Sonic Heroes... >_<

I'm the first to weep at the direction the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has taken over the last few years ... but I'd caution against being so quick to naysay. This can work.

I remember scoffs at the notion of a "Final Fantasy-like" RPG using Mario characters, on the old SNES. Anyone else remember that?

I remember chortles and guffaws when Squaresoft and Disney announced a partnership to release a game that featured both Winnie the Pooh ... and Squall Leonhart. It was a foolishly absurd proposal, no?

Those that laughed at such ideas ate their words, long ago. For this reason, I remain hopeful for this. At the very least, I look forward to seeing what comes of it all.

What he said.

The first thought that came to mind was 'i'm suer mario RPG got the same raised eyebrow reaction.'

Mario, however, haden't taken a creative nosedive previous to the RPG release unlike the sonic franchise.
