Yesterday was my birthday, and so far this whole week had sucked like hell. I got a(nother) C on Calculus, I felt sick, I was broke, I felt irresponsible on many things, my cell phone went dead on me, and many of the plans my friends had made with me had been cancelled. It was not a peachy week.
On Thursday, a bunch of my friends went to my apartment at 12 am with a cake and stayed for a few hours. It was fun, but I was very tired the whole time because the week had worn me down. At 1:30, I was close to just falling asleep standing. So, they left. And I got me 5:30 hours of sleep, because...
yesterday I had classes... marvelous. I wake up, feel like shit, get ready (My roommate didn't even look at me) and went to my first class. Boring... I had 5 hours in between that class and my next class.
Only one person called me to wish me a happy birthday. I hung out with 2 of my friends, met two new girls, and went late to my next class.
I go and take my other 2 classes, and by then it's 3:55pm, and I want to go home bad. I study in a city in the West that's 2:30 hours away from my home in the North. It took us 4 hours to get home, and we left at 4:45. I was sleepy, cranky, and tired when I got home. It had rained the whole day in every inch of the island (it seemed). I see my birthday present in front of my house, a car. Not brand-new, but still, I now have a car I can use. I was excited, of course, but I knew that was coming and I'd already seen it, so it really change my mood. The girl that gave me the ride said that she had to go to the bathroom, and if she could use our bathroom, I said of course. Mind you, it was still raining when we got here, so I called home to ask them if they'd come out with an umbrella so we wouldn't get wet, and my birds wouldn't get wet. My dad came out and helped us carry the baggage.
I notice as I'm walking up the ramp to the door that the lights are off, and I'd noticed my grandma's car was parked in front of the house. I'm thinking: they've got a cake for me. I already had in mind we were going out to eat as soon as I got home, so I thought it was just a pre-show.
So, I open the door, and suddenly the lights come on and my family's there, and most of my high-school friends are there. I was stunned. This is the first surprise-party I've ever been given. It was totally unexpected, and especially with so many people. So, we played poker, watched Saw II, ate pizza, ate cake, talked, laughed, and overall had a great time.
Great ending for a crappy week.
