Black Mesa discussion thread

Not sure if everyone knows about this, but oh well.

Black Mesa is basically a 3rd party remake of the original Half Life created from scratch using the HL2 Source engine. This is what fans of HL were hoping for since Half Life: Source was rather disappointing due to the reused textures instead of brand new textures and such.

So far these screens have been released, these also include some small clips of what the original game looked like. (Sorry if this is board breaking):

Nice. I wonder if they reused any of FearFaktory's work into the Cinematic mods for HL2 & episodes... those were absolutely stunning and the textures could certainly be migrated for the Zorgons or whatever the hell they're called again.

I thought this was dead in development?

Guess not; although, those are the same SS's I saw about a year or two ago when I was looking for good HL2 mods (have yet to find any worth their salt).

Well they did have some secrutiy issues and the source code was stolen, but I'm pretty sure this is still in development right now.
