Blank Error Screen

Anyone else ever have this problem?

I can log on Play Online Just fine and get to the choose game screen. I get to FFXI and hit the play button, the screen goes black like its about to load up and then I get the FFXI blue error message screen but there is no text in it just the button that says "ok".

In short, how do I fix it? lol

Damn, that sucks, I was hoping it was something else.... oh well i guess I will install and update overnight...

Sidenote: With my impressive lack of computer knowledge, you should probably not listen to anything i have to say.

Try a file check before you reinstall. It's on the first POL screen where you choose your account to sign in with. File check usually is done front to back within 30 minutes so it's a quicker option that usually will fix it.

I had this same type of problem when I was muling items around I logged in the new area right near the AH and when I went to log back in to my main char. Screen went black then gave an error but when I tried again it let me on just took forever. I could be from lag in the server in the area you last logged out in.

Stuck at blackscreen while The "Downloading Area"(on bottom right corner) is still downloading

this can be resolved by configing your Firewall, because sometime zoning to new area, you enter a area with new ip address, it happen to me before, a firewall alert pop up, and tell me do you want to block this or allow it, i choose block, and it make me stuck on "Downloading Area" Screen til they give me an error
