BLASTOISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's because it's pokemon power, Rain Dance, breaks the one energy card per turn rule.

In england Charizard sold for 1 grand in school....

Blastoise had an entire deck archetype built around it, the Rain Dance deck. Basically, put Blastoise on the bench, and load up pokemon with water energy and launch suped-up water guns and the like.

If I remember right, back in the day Rain Dance was one of the big 3, along with Haymaker and Damage Swap decks.
 
Damage Swap was always my big one.

I still have one of my favorite pokemon deck setups intact at home. I think it ended up being Fire+Psychic+Colorless and was more of an Energy Swap style.

I duly remember always being able to kill with Mewtwo just because I researched how to use it effectively, since he was my favorite (still is) pokemon.


MAN I MISS PLAYING THIS GAME.
 
I stoppped avidly collecting the cards somewhere around the Neo expansion (Gen II pokemon), but to this day, I have a dark+psychic+colorless deck that has yet to be beaten. Promo Mewtwo 4tw.
 
Haha! I have that one too (the second one with the same moves, not the Movie edition one -- the movie edition one has my favorite picture of Mewtwo >.>)

I stopped collecting RIGHT when Gold and Silver came out for the GBC. I felt 150(151) was far more than enough pokemon, and that the newer ones didn't remotely resemble animals, so much as "beings", the Unown pissed me off, and I promised myself I'd stop when I got a Charizard.

The last pack of pokemon cards I bought for myself had a Base Set 1 Holofoil Charizard in it.

I think I'm still missing Pidgeotto, Articuno, and (one other) out of the original set.

I have both, the one I got at the movie and the other with the different picture. And not including holo/nonholo copies, I'm only missing 3 from the original Team Rocket expansion, Dark Gyarados, Dark Slobro, and Dark Raichu.

I liked the Gen II pokemon, actually balanced the psychics(including making Mewtwo somewhat fair instead of being ungodly broken) and introduced the only pokemon that can really vie for my affection of Mewtwo, Tyranitar.

Also, Unknown sucks. All of them.

Edit:
When I say Mewtwo is fair, I mean in a sense that he couldn't crush a team of 6 single handedly, at least not without some effort.

The old Charizard sucked bad, needed 4 energy and you had to pitch two to attack with it.

Blastoise's power lets you break the rules and accelerate beyond reason. With Blastoise out you can power up anything you want with 3+ energy cards in one turn, instantly, where normally you'd need several turns to attach energy cards.

If you wanna see some real fun though combo it with this:

Dude, yes. Red was my shit, I had all 150. I beat blue too but never had all 150. Red though, I destroyed. I even had mew.

How'd you get Mew? The infamous 'Truck Keys' thing or do that one in Cerulian city where you take like a certain amount of steps and do a certain amount of things and he pops.

Someone traded him to me actually lol. So I really didn't do shit to get him, but I still HAD all 151 :O
