BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

Yeah, playin' the cast is like day and night. So far I have played as Bang, Ragna, Litche, Rachael, Jin, and Noel. None of them play even remotely the same. It's definitely not like a SF, Tekken, or DoA where once you get the handle on one of the characters half the cast is usable.

I use her too :3 I haven't played the game in arcades for almost half a year now, maybe longer, so I'm basically new again. She was the easiest to use on the arcade so I just picked her up. However, I've finally started goin' through and it looks like Ragna or Bang is gonna be the way to go for me and keep her on the side.

People online with V-13 just like to root you in place and spam the spikes, it's retarded and anyone can pull it off. With Haku his blocks gather his "energy" and fuck me, his strong attack can almost neuter you chances of winnin' from full HP. If you can pull off his distortion drive > distortion drive it's game over (easy, easy to do and even blocked it can be brutal), even one of them will eat up at least a lil' less than half the HP bar.

However, you should check them out in the arcade mode, haha. If you ever though Seth was cheap... I can only beat them with Noel and it consist of block, wait for opening, csf + D, forward + C, down up + A then repeat the hits or go back into blockin' and wait. When I could I'd cancel into a Distortion Drive but they do shit damage on Haku, while they'll eat up V-13 but also usually cause it to berserk and pull off some BS.

I can not lie to you.. I managed a perfect round on both Haku and V-13 while i was using Noel. I dont think it has anything to do with my skill as i am also feeling new to the game.

Noel has this link system that a KoF characters also has. Noel becomes borderline unblockable and can control exactly where you move once she is used properly.

Something like..

P foward, S, P, S simple..
P foward, S, B, down-up P...
P foward, hsf P, back P, down-up P..

Thats just a small and simple version of her patters.. There are so many variations it can be quit difficult to defend.

I do agree Haku is far too strong as well though lol.

V-13 wasn't much of a problem, especially after endurin' Haku. I one shot her, but online people can get pretty Jewish with her. Now I can beat them with ease on Arcade mode, at least on normal, haven't gone up yet. The first time I fought Haku I went almost perfect in round one and he perfect me round two... After that it took a few matches to get how to beat him down. He was just comboin' his slashin' Distortion Drive back to back and that was enough to kill me from damn near full. After I figured out how to keep his Meta from buildin' so fast it was no biggie.

I tell you another character about as easy as Noel to use and damn near twice as beast, fuckin' Arakune, if you can get use to him bein' a blob, is just balls to the walls. I'm actually considerin' usin' him now when I shoot up the ladder for the online achievements. I gotta get a new arcade pad and get use to it before then as well.

I tell you what kind of tripped me out to, about the graphics, are the sprites. Everything is in HD but the sprites and they have just enough of a classic look to make it feel sort of "vintage" already, despite them also lookin' really neat on a big T.V. The only qualm I have with the game right now is the sound quality, it's utter, utter shit. It's funny, you'll have a decent level of volume goin' for BG music and fightin' voices (which will have you turnin' your shit up louder than the norm) and then go to not bein' a able to hear a lick at story time to bein' deafened when Band pops his Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan...

Man i am blown away by how different the characters fighting styles are. I am a very experienced gamer when it comes to fighters and still... I am forced to go through a training mode before i try to play with each character.

EDIT: Wanted to add that the only thing this game is missing... Is a rehash, reference or straight clone of the coolest fighting game character ever created. Slayer;;

While I was tryin' to get to bed last night I realized somethin'. This is exactly why this game will stay on my shelf, forever, while games like SF IV will fade away. Yeah, there are only 12 characters to play, but each of those characters are worlds apart. Not only that, but they all have their fun side, to me at least. I can't pick a main like I could any other fightin' game I've ever played because I'm so damn interested in the lot of them.

Needs a Baiken too, I miss my Tatami slaps... You know, those guys could really, really cash in on a HD GG remake for XBLA.

Man, I've been having a blast with this game since it came out, each character really does stand out as being different in many ways. It's just, I mean, I really need a new damn arcade stick.

Fixed. Big time user error if anyone read what was here, if not, disregard.

Still, bein' able to use macroed specials in ranked matches is bitch mode.

Got the limited edition of this game for ps3, been playing it as much as possible. This is a must have for Fighting game fans. You guys should try doing a Unlimited Ragna v.s Unlimited Ragna fight and it can be a hell of a fight. The only thing about the game that I have trouble with is pulling of Astral moves in online play. Hell, I am thinking of buying this again for 360. Hopefully KoF 12 will rock as well. We need great games like this.

Noel is a beast in this game though, beat a lvl 26 character with her when I was lvl 3 and I think i jumped to lvl 9 from it. She can combo so easily into her DD and just playing with her in training mode for 10 minutes and you can take down almost anyone. Her ground shot is an awesome way to finish someone.

I had a similar experience with her. I just had started and was level 2 and some douche bag level 24 dude challenged me. I was just bein' agressive with her drive and beat him by the skin of my teeth with an aerial knock-up + the ground DD since he didn't recover. I think I got at least two/three levels off that win, maybe more. I got a message from him after the match callin' me a scrub, was kinda funny considerin' who it came from.

Ever since I figured out you get a lot of XP for fightin' people really high I've been goin' for them. Doesn't do my record well but I only care about gettin' to 30 and completin' the match numbers for achievements. I played 68 player matches last night against a beast (claimed to be a Chinatown Fair guy and given his performance I believe just that), he took 57 of the matches but I swear he upped my Arakune game ten-fold and I made a new buddy. So between those two points I've stopped all concern for my record.

I just can't seem to find a good way to deal with Jin now. That guy is just broken. Against Arakune he has priority in the air and on the ground... People that just spam the ice board to C C C C C C C C C, I can't seem to do anything about. Then when I get some hits in and get them to back off I eat a DD that seems to go full screen and is unable to be blocked, even with a barrier. I needa find someone who only plays Jin and get my ass whooped all night I guess.

I ran into a beast Tager tonight and that was a lot of fun. We played 23 matches and had we played 24 probably would have both won half the battle. Tager is fun to play against because he's so brutal and one mistake can make it game over. Also played a few Ragna's but didn't get much out of them. Ragna's low game is so awful it's not even funny, but if he gets you in the air or breaks your guard he's borderline impossible to recover on. I'm amazed at how well this game works online considerin' how fast paced it is. Even SF IV wasn't this smooth for me all the time.

I've been using Rachel mainly for my online battles. Her play style is way too addictive to me, but I'm really enjoying myself. However, I decided to just unlock every Astral Heat and do the Story before I head back online for now,

I missed the CE since they're only giving it to pre-orders and the normal edition isn't out till the end of the month or something...I can wait but it does look like a sick game...

Been playing an awful lot of V-13's online lately. I haven't played a single Jin that didn't just do his grab that freezes you over and over again. If i see V-13 or Jin as the character that quits i usually wait until the first move of the match to see if they are just going to spam. If they do i quit.

One of them sent me a message asking why i "pussied out". I told him it wasn't fun playing against someone that only knows how to spam 2 moves.

I have had a lot of good matches against Haku-mens and Bangs. There was a Rachel that just completely owned me though. Ended up friending him so i could play against him some more.

Still haven't fought any Tager's or Carl's that were worth anything.

I bet you can find it floatin' around still, I didn't pre-order the game. I'm sure places like Amazon and the likes have it at least.

I here you Make, I don't play against boss characters. If you need to use a boss character to win, you're fuckin' awful in my books, so I'd either just not play them if their Drive Card had a boss toon as main or alt or just quit before the game officially starts. I also don't deal with spammers. In this game, unlike SF IV, a spammer is not an easy target, especially a V-13 or Jin (Icening with Drive + CCCCCCCCCCCCC is just broken). Blame the Drive button. However, I'm at the point now where I don't play online unless someone I know wants to play since I've already gotten the achievements, except the 150 Player Matches but hell I'm at 130 I think so all in good time.

Is there a way I can pay for stuff on Amazon with my bank account? since I currently don't have a Credit card here...

Can't you pay for amazon with paypal? That uses the money in your bank account.

What is your gamertag Strid? I'd like to face off against you sometime. I've only been playing against the same 4 friends that are all about the same skill since they don't play online a whole lot.

I'm not sure. That idea isn't limited to Amazon though. The LE isn't a rare find atm, at all. So if you know a place that does somethin' like you need look there, OR you could go to your bank and get a Visa Bucks card and then buy off anywhere. A Visa Bucks card works like a gift certificate, but instead of havin' a store attached to it, it's just a normal Visa Card with stricter limit.

Forgot about this. I think you can, or at least use to be able to.

XI Strid IX is my gamertag. I'm a bit out of shape though, not that I'm that good to begin with, but I'm not a spammer. I haven't touched the game but once for about 20 min. since Battlefield 1943 came out. I would love to play you some time but right now a lot of the people I use to play CoD 4 with are playin' BF together, which is a rare treat, so I have to enjoy this while I can. I can also introduce you to another guy who is an excellent player and fun to hang out with while playin', but right now he's caught in the BF craze too.

Just add me whenever and when I/we decide to make a room, if you're on, I'll be sure to let you know. We both love the game so it shouldn't be to much longer before we start spendin' a little more time with it.
