Oy.

So earlier this week, my friend sets me up on a blind date. I've been single for a while, and for some reason he and his wife are determined to hook me up.

We meet at a restaurant, and everything is going ok, until I ask if she wants a drink.

Chick: Oh, no, I can't.
Jason: Not a drinker?
Chick: Oh, I like to drink, I just can't right now.
Jason: Medication?
Chick: No, its not good for the baby.

It took my brain a second to process this new information.

Jason: Baby?
Chick: I'm two months pregnant.
Jason: Oh, um, congratulations.
Brain: What the fuck-
Chick: Thank you. The father split when he found out.
Brain: Bail. Think of an excuse, go home, and murder your friend.
Chick: It feels nice to be out. It gets pretty lonely.
Brain: Damnit. You realize, of course, that you now have to stay.

We ate dinner, hung out for a while. It was fun, but I couldn't get the pregnancy thing out of my mind.

My friend called the next day to see how it went.

Friend: Well?
Jason: Two months pregnant? What the hell is wrong with you?
Friend: I didn't think it would matter. You went out with that chick who had a kid.
Jason: If I recall correctly, you set that up as well.
Friend: Who cares if she's pregnant?
Jason: Oh, you're right. If we date, I'll have all the joys of pregnancy, without the bother of sex.
Friend: You can have sex when you're pregnant.
Jason: Nevermind.

Ridiculous. The bad part is the blind date wasn't really that bad, aside from the whole pregnancy thing.

Anybody got a blind date horror story they want to share?

I have unfortunately been on a blind date about 4 years ago. It was set up for me by one of my best friends, I hadn't been involved in a while and she decided to 'help'. She says she knew this guy though her family and he was a super nice guy. She gave him my number and he called me, we talked for a while. He was on Varsity Football, lived in a richer area around here and was very intelligent. We were on the phone for about 4 hours in all.

So, big day comes and we meet at the mall to go to lunch. My best friend and her then boyfriend were there together at a different resturant for 'back up'.

So, I'm walking up to the resturant (I'm all decked out, not too fantastic but I look nice) and I see this fool that is about 6'5", 450lbs and wearing one of those Addidas sweat suits that are all shiney, right? My first thought: "Dear sweet god do not let his be him..."

"Hey, is that you?"

-_-;;

So, I got to sit through an incredibly painful 3 hour lunch hearing about how he wasn't really on the football team, but in varsity band, he lived in a ramshackle house in a nice area of town, played the tuba (I kid you not) and then asked me to pay for his gigantic food order because he 'forgot he didn't have pockets' in his high fashion track suit.

That day, I got followed out by mall security for the 9,000 cusswords I flung at my friend before leaving the mall XD

Hmmm, your friends seem to have a cruel sense of humor. lol

/comfort to you both!

I got set up on a blind date for my Senior Prom.

I had only been in the school for 4 months, and didn't know *too* many of the people, and most of my friends were just that, so I didn't want to ask THEM out, and the other girls were either dating someone, or kinda already promised themselves to guys, and I was not comfortable stealing a chick from a dude yet.

So two of my best friends set me up with this chick in the 10th grade. I did meet her once before going to the prom, just to discuss picking her up and everything, and of course we went out as "a group" with other friends to dinner.

So I pick her up at her parents (her stepmother was my brother's 8th grade teacher, lawlz), and we headed to dinner. Dinner was fine, just....discounting the lack of conversation.

Questions like "so, what do you like to do in your spare time", "what kind of things do you like to eat (on the menu here)", or "hey, do you know x common person?" never got answered.

So dinner = disaster. I tore a button off my tux, which we had to stop at a friend's house to fix, and then on to the lovely prom.

Prom sucked ass. She barely said a word, and when she danced, it was kinda...forced?

Saying "she wasn't into me" is the understatement of the fucking century. We had a common friend, a (quite hawt) exchange student from Spain, who ended up going stag to the Prom. My own date asked me, "I feel bad for (friend's name), I wonder if anyone will dance with her....why don't you?"

The evening tanked from there. I took her back home, nearly got mauled by her big-as-fuckall-will-kill-for-food dog, and drove home to go to sleep.

Woohoo.

Yeah... while it was nice he set up a date for you, it was pretty inconsiderate to assume you'd want to date someone with a baby on the way. Sorry bud.

As far as blind dates go, yeah... they suck.

I had a female friend at the office I work at a long while back. She wanted to introduce me to her cousin. So, company Christmas party comes around... and there she is. I'm introduced to the cousin Alex. I am floored. She's extremely attractive, larger chested than what I prefer (but boy, they looked nice), nice, fit and trim body, stylish highlights in the hair, baby blue eyes, and a smile that could rock someone's world just be seeing it.

My first thought:
Jackpot.

So we have fun that night. Drinks ensue, we dance, party, have laughs together. She's a hair stylist aiming to own her own business someday, loves to laugh (found by observation) and totally forward, which is my kind of girl. I love a woman that's forward and not timid. Party is over, so we decide to extend it. Me, my coworker, another friend at the office, and Alex go to a bar in town. Live music, good band (no one special, but they sounded alright), fun at the bar, drinks, people, good times. Was a lot of fun. (the coworker introducing me to her cousin is quite known for her Double-F cup size, while not being terribly overweight... anyways, they had an actual drink named after her called the "Giant Coconut" that we all enjoyed).

Anyways, it was getting late, so we decided to retire. I went back to Alex's place. Get in the door and she's pretty much all over me, and I'm loving it. This woman is seriously sexy. One thing leads to another...

After we have a very fun experience, I'm putting my pants on and lay down next to her. I kiss her neck, and she starts crying. I ask her what's going on, kind of shocked, and she says:
"I feel so ashamed" she sobs, "I'm engaged!".

Pants zipped, shirt on, shoes in hand, out the door. 5 seconds.

ffffffffffFFFFFFUCK!

I'm too nitpicky to ever go on a blind date.

My taste is quite awkward, but I was rather shallow.

Wouldn't even Wingman for a friend who needs another friend to keep her friend busy, lmao.

The closest I've come to a "blind date" are visiting my mother at work and having some numbers passed my way and going out with a couple. -- However, I was introduced around and I saw what I was getting myself into because every mother has to show off their kid amirite?

Things change, but I think I'm still too shy to do an honest-to-god blind date.

My chuckles and sympathies to those with a bad experience.

And to think, lately, Ive been considering blind dates...

Well maybe if they're really blind, they won't tell you that you look like that guy from TV in the first 5 minutes of meeting you?

Think Id be better off dating a blind woman anyway.

Yeah, since all the senses supposedly pick up, maybe that enhanced sense of touch will make up for your lackluster skills in the bedroom.

IluRuffy.

I always get duds - I really don't know if I should be insulted that our matchmaker thought we would be compatible or not :\

Then again, I get duds in general but at least those of the non-blind variety are generally cuter duds <_<

Your face is a dud!

Btw, forgot...

Pasquale, man...

-.-

Quit letting them set you up? :O

Next one will be a pre-fab famiry just needing you to marry in man.

My worst blind date story was a double date, my friend's girlfriend's sister was single and being somewhat of a third wheel for the two of them, so naturally he thought to do me the favor of setting us up.

Dinner went well, the two of us got along just fine. The four of us went back to their house after, and met with the parents. Long story short, when mom heard my last name we got to digging through the family tree, and found out we were 3rd cousins.

Well Stout, you fared a lot better than the guy who made out with the cute neighbour one day (No further than French kissing) and the next finds out she was his half sister... Or the guy at my old job who's son was also his cousin >.>

Wow thats horrible. So did you at least nail her?

3rd cousin isn't that bad.. lol

lol i did my 3rd cousin too (well she did me....) but we were aware about the relationship degree and decided that 3rd cousin was a good compromise :D, the curious things is that our 2 branches of the family never got in touch since over than 20 years and we met on the net on a online videogame, i did mistake to put my email (name.surname@domain) and she recognized the surname (not a common one).

I for one think blind dates are fun. In no other situations in life do you get to be the job of your choice, make as much money as you want, and be as important as you can be lol I don't ever think I was on a blind date I told the truth about everything.

I think were the only 2 people who think that way lol.
