ok, so at the moment, i have 2 body pieces. Errant and Igqira. I am really not sure which one to use. i have asked other BLM and tried to experiment to see which one does more damage but the results were mixed. i also have a black cloak but i mainly use that for its auto-refresh ability.

and about Wizard's Gloves and Errant cuffs. Again, i have experimented with them only getting mixed results.

Thank you in advance.

Body:
Iggy body for Elemental spells, because it has Ele magic skill, MAB, and Conserve MP.
Errant body for Dark Magic spells, such as Drain, Aspir, and Bio, because 10 INT boosts it by a greater portion than the 6 MAB. Ele skill doesnt affect the spells, and Conerve MP is a moot point because the MP costs are low already.

Hands:
Same deal, Swap in Wizards Gloves for Elemental magic, and Errant for Dark magic and enfeeble.

When i play BLM, i have 2 macros for my elemental gear sets. One is for "power," and equips Iggy body, AF hat, Zenith, Mah. Pants. If going for Elemental Magic skill, i excange the AF hat for an Elite Beret, and Zenith mitts for AF hands. Errant body is only for healing and Dark Magic casting.

Igqira for nuking, errant for resting, black cloak for in between. That's how I roll.

Also use errant for other random spells that benifit from it, usually enfeebs when I'm to lazy to pull out AF

Zenith mitts > all!... I think wizards is probably still better than errant though for nuking. Errant might be nice for enfeebs

im not having the same effects as you guys -.- im still getting mixed results with Iggy+af gloves and iggy+errant cuffs.

well errant I think will slightly allow for more max damage I think but AF cuts resist rate way down and are definately worth it. I will say this again Zenith hands completely own for everything but kirin.

The elemental magic on the Igquira Weskit helps you to keep from getting resisted. The int makes you do more damage, but won't really affect your resist rate. MAB gives more dfamage somewhere along the lines, I don't really know how that works into it. The Reserve MP... I haven't noticed if it improved the frequency of activation or the potency, but either way, that's good stuff. If you aren't having problems getting resisted, and you have more mp than you need, switch to errant from Igquira. It takes at least xp mobs to notice the difference.

Marajade says it first and best:
Iggy body for Elemental spells, because it has Ele magic skill, MAB, and Conserve MP.
Errant body for Dark Magic spells, such as Drain, Aspir, and Bio, because 10 INT boosts it by a greater portion than the 6 MAB. Ele skill doesnt affect the spells, and Conerve MP is a moot point because the MP costs are low already.

as marajade has stated from all his experience playing my character *rolls eyes* ... igqira body for nukes, i have erant in for drain and aspir in combination with sorc gloves. wizards gloves own EVERYTHING PRE-ZENITH for elemental.... and even after it can be a toss up depending on the exp mob... and on gods af own... hnm? they own, with capped ele skill merits on gods? still win. really, if you can't get zenith stick to AF hands.. please, don't buy Igqira hands. they're a pathetic attempt at compromise where you get the worst parser results ever....

1MAB = 2INT.

I'm really not going to post all my findings on when I did this research (because quite frankly it's obvious this is true, just nuke something with errant hpl. on only, and then moldavite earring, the results will be near identical - If the monster doesn't resist your spell), and it can be easily found on the BLM forums of killing ifrit.

This, right off the bat, shows that Igqira weskit is better than the errant, but that doesn't mean you should discard it. I keep it with me for resting, aswell as to macro in for stoneskin (to make the effect greater) and blink (I find my blink cons quite well - not utsusemi rates, but it usually absorbs 2 hits within 5 attacks.). I also keep my AF body with me for enfeebles, since I do enjoy to solo things nowadays so being able to rely on your sleeps to stick and not wear off for a while is very nice.

On the topic of mitts, I use errant cuffs. I find that my nukes don't get resisted a whole bunch, depending on what monster you're fighting of course, so my AF1 hands don't get used alot except for events like gods (especially kirin).

MaB and int in a spell's dmg calculation are completely seperate. they may have a comparable end result but the actual role in the calculation is a little bit more subtle. MAB does something like *1.05 whereas int's dmg is derived by a calculation taking into consideration the difference between caster int and target int.....
