BLM's need for sky = gone?

Ok, only 2 real pieces a BLM really need from sky. Kirin's Pole for Stoneskin and Zenith Mitts fro Nuking. Kirin's Pole now is so cheap you can find it in Batallia Downs for 10-15k sometimes. And now withe uprise of Vicious Mufflers the demand for Zenith Mitts will most probably go down alot. I mean, why spend months and months screwing around with Genbu and a sky points system when you can just go to Meriphataud Mountain and force pop this NM who has a 90% drop rate on the item.
Now this may vary on the needs of BLM to BLM, but honestly I have 3 different hands I macro in and out so I don't really use the MP on the Z Mitts.

I don't think it's a total loss, each player will have their own tastes and demands. Granted, now that theres a second set of gloves with MAB +5 and one is 3 levels lower then the other, I think that demand will decrease atleast.

This nm was killed easily by a merit pt setup. I think less blms will join sky ls and go to sea for the jackpot novio
 
Demand for blms in sky is dropping simultaneously, with zerg setups becoming more and more common daily. Should be a win/win situation. In the past, you had to hear complaints of blms attending sky events for practically no gain. Now they don't have to attend sky at all, and at the rate melees are being enhanced, the game won't need any jobs but melees anyway. Everyone will be happy.
 
It's been a while that zenith mitts are not the top gear anymore. First Yigit gloves : int 5 mab2, which gives the same damage numbers as mab5 on tierIV +/- 1-2 dmg, and you also get the benefit of int5 wich contribute to lower the relative int difference with the mob. Also assault gives you the feet which are the best in this slot.

Second Morrigan cuffs, goliard cuffs, and now those gloves.

TBH the -50 hp is only good for sorcerer earring, and you don't need them to activate it anyway, especially if you are a taru... For elvaan JSE/galka works fine.

So yes basically it's kinda useless to farm sky on BLM nowadays, only rdm will stay in sky for Crimson legs lol.
 
I've been told the "enhances absorbs spells" effect does not work on drain and aspir. It may seem obvious, but drain and aspir may have just as easily been called absorb-HP and Absorb-MP respectively. That being said, I still prefer Zenith for the MP boost. I'm a mithra and I need the MP (we are second highest after taru), but I would figure even a taru would want the MP anyways since it means you'll be able to nuke more frequently without resting. Sure, it means it'll take more time to fully rest; however, it takes less time to recover larger MP pools over time than smaller with the same amount of MP consumed. In other words, you can use and recover 1000 MP faster than you can use and recover 500 MP twice.

There is also another issue. I'm a BLM, but I have 4 other jobs all of which require more sky gear than just the A hands. There are many other players with the same circumstances who play BLM and a few other jobs. I would imagine many of those people would earn for their zenith mitts in the process of getting other sky gear. Although Zenith mitts are probably one of the lowest drop rates in sky, just under w legs, they're still a great piece to have in my opinion. For the people with just BLM leveled, it might not be so worth it when you can get Vicious Mufflers within a couple of hours, but I think those people are not that common anymore.

Should also note: SCH cannot equip Zenith so this is actually one of the best choice for SCH when nuking. Morrigan's would be better, but I am not sure if they can equip it plus with salvage drop rates, time might be better invested in Muffflers while waiting for drops.

Edit: If I did not have zenith mitts for BLM, I would get mufflers for BLM because they really are quick to get, but as soon as I recieved a hands abj. I would toss the mufflers.

you have to also remember that now that more people HAVE a.hands, that there is less demand than there used to be for them. they also drop off fafnir which would contribute to less need for them from BLMs in sky than any of the new gear, imo.

I have no issues with getting sorc ring activated without zenith mitts, but I'm a taru (but then again, all worthwhile blms are)

Yigit are less damage, but come very close.

These are the same damage as the NQ zenith. The biggest thing is the 50 HP>MP, which on top of giving the MP allow you to use sorc ring without going into blood aggro HP.

Sounds like it's an easy solo for a pimp blm, I'm gonna have to try it out.

Nope.

It increases duration of absorb spells by 10 secs per enhance.

but yea its true it's not uncommon to see people who have more the one 75 and some blms i know with another 75 did a melee job for it

Vampiric Mitts and Boots are the equivalent for Drain and Aspir. Wearable by DRK/BLM/SCH.
 
I wish these were around 2 years ago, would have saved me alot of time in Sky and now blms are being handed this stuff. Now all we need is E.Body to drop off Tit Tom Tat. Go Go lowering the standards for jobs!

Whats sad is just how easy the mob is too. I mean killable by a merit pt? 90% drop rate? I want my time in sky back for this shit. Or atleast some sort of compensation in reguards the other jobs. How about a ridill like sword with 3 less base damage but still swings 2-3 times that drops off of a force popped VE? While we're at it, how about SE just MAIL us all the gear like they did the last set of items from the doll festival?

Sure, good for the new blms who dont have time for sky thats great, but seriously the mob isnt even HALF as hard as Genbu and has a high ass drop rate. The fact that it replaces the only drop that makes sky even semi-worth it is kind of a slap in the face to all those blms who wasted their time in sky.

Well you can thank all the people that complain that all the good gear is still in sky, so they now putting alternatives outside of sky. They don't want give us better stuff yet they will give us near as good.
