I can't say I have noticed any signatures of a questionable nature recently, however there are some avatars out there that imo are not safe for work. Some may argue that you shouldn't be checking these forums while you are at work. However, some people's jobs don't care what you do while you work. (Woot for scholarship jobs!)

I was curious if it would be possible to implement some way to block certain people's avatar's images. Also - something that could be considered is having an option available that if the image is updated, to unblock it.

You can disable avatars and signatures in your UserCP -> Settings & Options -> Edit Options -> Thread Display Options -> Visible Post Elements, thought that would apply to all users alike.

Alternativly you can ignore the user in question by accessing his or her profile, and the clicking on "Ignore this User", though that would of course make you igore his or her posts as well.

Those are pretty much the only QCDN based options. Perhaps Firefox users can pitch in on whether there is a browser based setting that will allow one to ignore specific images.

I see a red dot hovering around my forehead...

In Firefox, there is an easy way to disable this.

Options » Content. There is a checkbox for "Load Images", and to the right of that an "Exceptions" list. This is your block list. You can block all images being hosted from certain domains.

As an example, I'll use... oh I dont know, my avatar. By right-clicking and checking the properties of that avatar, you see it's url is http://www.qcdn.org/image.php?u=455&dateline=1145635233. Add this to your Exceptions list noted above, and you should be 100% work-safe.

Alternatively, I can provide you with my photobucket virtual domains, which you can block to remove all of my avatars (and some future ones, if they are automatically uploaded to the same virtual domains).

edit: the first option would work perfectly with your later request, wherein changing the sig would un-block the image. Firefox's Exceptions list would have only the old avatar shown, so new avatars should be visible until you block those. Sculli, does that make sense? Are avatar url's dynamically assigned or is it a static url associated with the user account?
