Bloom Effects

[tidy]

My computer absolutely LOVES to take shits whenever theres some sort of smokey/bloomy/firey/particle effects on my screen. (Smoke bombs in CS:S, Bloom in Jade Empire, etc) Anyway I can prevent this from happening? I think it might be my video card, but I'm so not hardware savvy at all.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Update the driver.

Yes, very simple and basic. Though it's helped before for some friends of mine. If not, I honestly would have to leave it to the true experts.

***EDIT***

You can find the drivers are the card companies website. Good luck!
