hmmm... i know nothing about these jobs... what are good subs for them... and ... main stats u should look for... (and what are they like...) ima niub

Blu is a good DD but a huge pain in the ass to learn the spells, usually see /thf or /nin.

Cor is a good buffer/DD, usually see /whm, /nin or /rng.

Pup sucks, I'd imagine war sub since it's a melee job, no /thf since they use hand to hand weapons.

You need like all stats for blu ;x

I've only lvl'd Puppetmaster :) got her to 37. I sub bard and play a support DD, since Pama, my puppet, does most of my dmg for me. Plus, which party doesn't mind an extra song buff >: )

Only things I can tell you about this job.

1) expensive! one of the reasons I put mine on hold, check out attachment prices! I've already put 3 mil into this job and I'm only in my late 30's.

2) Hellllloooo BCNMs!!! 3-6 man BCNMs are your best friends. Give it a try! the BCNM20 and 30s are awesome. As a PUP you can tank and do some really nice dmg on these guys. Plus! You can pretty much win these in under 10 minutes with a pup or two in your line up.

3) Skilling up T_T omg 1-30 sucked. Since you get a new body every 10 lvls, that's a lot of skilling up you need to do. I started with the RNG body since pama started with 0 in ranged. His magic was semi-decently lvl'd and his melee, so I decided to go for the one that would be the hardest to skill up first. I solo'd up to lvl 17 for the most part on this job. Came mostly from skilling up to be honest :)

It's a fun job. Very different from white mage and dragoon. Retired atm, I hope to return to that or beastmaster when I finish blm :)

BLU/THF, BLU/NIN BLU/Insert Mage Job Here. Physical damage Blue Magic can be used with Sneak and Trick Attack, making THF pretty powerful. Divine Seal and Elemental Seal stack with the magical ones. They don't need Attack for physical spells, spells have affiliated stats, MND for the Curative ones, INT for the Elemental ones, STR, DEX, AGI affect different physical-type spells. For Physical Spells, Primary thing you want to focus on is Accuracy+ equipment though.

COR/NIN, COR/RNG. Basically Ranger and a Support job in one. Less Marksmanship skill than Ranger, but enough to still make it useful for damage. Subbing Ranger for Accuracy Bonus, Barrage, and Sharpshot is more useful than subbing Ninja to dual wield Ranged Accuracy/Attack items in my opinion.

Puppetmaster, no ones really figured out the optimal set up yet, because the job is pretty fickle compared to the other 17.

BLU is massivley overplayed. Thre's like 4,597,524,465 of them.

Cor is badass. Easily the best of the 2 new jobs. Can provide some nice bardesque support, as well as some satisfying numbers in the damage game.

Wait, did I say 2 new jobs? Oh, I did. Hmmm, oh, that's right, there's that other job. What was that abortion again?

This combo has always been a thought of mine. I mean, you can't sub red or white mage to help cure, because you can't heal for MP while the Automaton is engaged in combat. And not having A or B grades in your weaponry really takes its toll later on, not to mention Hand to Hand without adequate Martial Arts traits really sucks, so you're not going to be putting out great personal damage numbers.

Bard will allow you to basically throw up a complimentary song with a Bard main in the Party, such as Peaon to assist with healing slightly, or another Madrigal/Minuet. Or when partied with a Bard and a Black Mage, you can handle Ballad 1 duty, and the Bard can give the Black Mage an INT buff song.

Plus, the combo makes sense when you consider that Bards and Puppetmasters are mostly entertainers in the game world.

Cor is a good buffer/DD, usually see /whm, /nin or /rng.
NIN sub is useless for COR, and WHM is just gimping yourself :p RNG is by far the best sub for COR, as your accuracy will be rather sad without RNG sub. And doing damage is one part of your job.

In most parties I join, I outdamage the melees, while buffing them at the same time. NIN offers nothing other then utsu:ichi, and since you won't take hate, makes it useless. It can be usefull for pulling, but honestly, I can't remember the last time the mosnter hit me while I was pulling. They just don't have enough time to catch up when you shoot them from a long distance.

RNG sub also gives you Rapid Shot, barrage, sharpshoot, and other usefull abilities.

As for BLU, I prefer subbing /NIN over /THF. At 70+, you can deal over 1,200 damage in a matter of seconds with only 2 spells. When you sub THF, you can do the same, even when you don't use SATA. *BUT*, since you'll most likely have hate by that time, it means you'll get assraped and die unless the healer cure spams you.

/NIN also offers slightly higher TP gain, and damage output from your melees, and to optimize damage output/MP usage, 1/3 to 1/2 of your damage should come from your swords. Even as BLU/NIN, I outdamaged almost all other melees, except for like 3 that I met on my way to 75.

While /THF lets you do 900 damage death scissors, it requires you to have over 100% TP, and I could do more then that anyway with Vorpal Blade + Disseverment (or Savage Blade -> Disserverment -> Distortion, for that matter).

As for stats, BLU should mainly aim for STR while meleeing and casting spells. While yes, CHR, AGI and DEX affects some spells, STR affects all of them to a greater degree.

Most magic spells are affected by INT, except for breat-type spells that does damage depending on how much HP you have. healing spells are MND-based. There's also some magic spells that are CHR based. Although I believe that enfeebling spells are CHR based, it have not been tested thouroughly enough to say they are.

Basically, stick to STR while meleeing, as you'll get the best result that way. For a complete list of stat mods, go here:
http://www.neko-sentai.com/images/BlumageNFO.htm

Also, countrary to popular belief, TP does NOTHING to the spells unless you use Chain Affinity, so don't save your TP pre-40.

Thought might aswell add this, /WHM is also a great sub for BLU when main healing. /BLM is currently not very explored, but I think it can be rather good for end-game once we get some more +blue magic items. Breath-type spells doesn't seem to work the same with resistance as normal spells, and there's been reports of breath spells doing damage to magic immune monsters. I haven't had a chance to try it myself, but it breath spells ignores magic resistance to some extent, it could be better then BLMes at killing stones in Dynamis =/

I have PUP at 37 as well. Only reason I've stopped is to level WAR sub.

I always use /War in parties... best for dmg(Berserk). /Mnk was good early, but /War is better 30+. I've tried /Nin and /Whm for soloing... but soloing is a bit tricky at times. Still trying to get the hang of it(read: my puppet is retarded and doesnt cure)

PUP has a lot of potential... but does needs some tweeking. Hopefully that'll happen... someday... ; ; Even so, I enjoy the job immensely.

The downsides: SKilling up is a *bitch*. Mage is a pain, Rng is pure hell. I am ashamed to say I still havent really lvld the rng frame because its so annoying. 1 shot every 10 seconds~ for chance to skill? No thanks.

Attachments can be expensive, but not too bad aside from the ENM ones. I have a few tier II attachments, and theyre ok.
