I couldn't find any threads with this dilemma, and I've been trying to search it out, but here's the question:
Would it be wise to use a hand piece such as Pallas's bracelets for WS macro AND blue mage spell macro due to it's -5 DEX? Or just keep Pallas for WS only and find hands for spells that give good STR without the sacrifice of DEX.
I've been thinking about this forever and just wanted to know everyone's opinions.
Please, and thank you.:chocobo:

I think it's best to do it on a case by case basis with spells. For something like death scissors, which has a 60% STR modifier, I stack as much STR as I can so I swap in the alky braclets for using that spell ... but spells that use DEX as a modifier obviously should not be used while wearing any of the -dex bracelets. Anyway, that's my opinion but I'm just one BLU .. an out of practice one at that.

Alky for everything except Hysteric Barrage..AF2 (+1) Hands for HB.

Enkidu's hands Diss FR WS, Af2+1 for HB, Alky's for anything you do with Sneak Attack

alright!
thanks for your help, guys. Gonna go for 3 enkidu pieces once my nyzul static is done.

They're sweet, I use four of the pieces, never got the fifth though ; ;

damn they beat me to it, only thing is I'd use pallas for savage blade and denali feet + denali hands for vorpal ; unless you have enkidu hands for spells and ws. In the hb case I dont have hq relic+1 hands to compare to enkidu hands so Idk; Ill test it when i get them though

This, pretty much. I use Enkidu's for HB too, since STR still affects the equation even if it isn't a direct mod. I didn't bother picking up the relic, since it's effectively a side-grade and INV+1, IMO.

Enkidu's Mitts for Vorpal (STR for WS mod, DEX for +crit %, ACC for landing as many hits as possible) IMO, and Denali for Savage Blade, due to the MND and Attack (STR/MND+4, ATT+6, right? I'm at work; I can't check atm). Those're what I use for my WS.

ahh thanks for the idea on savage blade, nyosan.
I was thinking of picking up a pair of denali hands but didn't know what to use it with exactly til i read your post.
All of the gear recommendations are as correct as it seems. Can't thank you guys enough on this issue :]

I personally like Denali for normal purposes switching to Bracelets only when /thf for the big Str mods on Sneak Attack Cleave

Yeah I hear ya on that. I'm actually using Custom M gloves with the STR and DEX+3 until I can get my hands on Denali gloves.
Then I stack on STR like the bracelets as you said for SA spells. Cleave FTW!

The RSE works wonders until you can get Denali or Endiku. My all out str build is in the 120 range right now with Head and earrings missing str mods

Ah if you wanna go for some str in your head piece, grab a wivre mask, which is about 100k roughly. I got one and I tend to use it for my cannonball setup. ;]

That or the MKD head piece also works great, as well as a Voyager Sallet

remember nico saying something about mirage keff being better overall with merits because of increase in damage tier; not that I know how blue damage tiers work(yet, not much time on my hands)

assuming 5 is an increase in level due to af body being 3 levels of blue magic added

Yeah it's true that the relic hat gives CB setup a new tier, but I only have 3 merits in Blue Magic atm and won't be putting more into it until I'm done meriting sword 8/8 and mp 8/8 first, just so i'll be that much beastin' when i finally get back to meriting Blue Magic :D

I merited Blue Magic Skill first, Physical Potency second, and sword last

let me give you a freakin' medal :P

j/k Hexx XD

yeah I was thinking blu magic first, but I'm pretty set on what I'm doing now. I guess everyone has their different ways ^^

ACC from meriting Sword affects both melee and spells. I would save Potency merits until after sword, since they provide a flat accuracy bonus to spells.

ahh, I thought Potency only improved the proc rate of certain spells like headbutt's stun potency to land on a mob or something along those lines.

Would you care ot elaborate, nyo? I'm interested in hearing more :o
