How long does it take for stacked boosts to wear?

Is it 3 minutes exactly or is it a little over?

Basically, is it worth gambling on 12-boosts for a Maat fight, or do I play it safe with 11?
 
It lasts 3 mins on the dot
best to do 12 if your on windower it can set it up for 12 on the dot then chi blast if not do 11 rember use af hands and as much MND as possable
 
Yes, it's 3 minutes and you can get 12 boosts in before it wears. One of the easiest things to do is to just equip your AF hands, and then just go from your JA window and manually count your boosts. Then before you chi blast, you can either macro in +mnd hands or manually equip them.

PLD's can easily hit 999 def if they try to gear for it, eat +defense food and use all of their abilities.

i guess i should have mentioned, that was no food, and no warcry... i used berserk after i hit 999 but of course got no where. i had no bard, i was solo..

this was in ordelle caves when i was bored waiting on MORB XD

i think eulore has a shot of his pld hitting 999 def.

Probably not. A Warrior might be able to alternate either. WAR/MNK could possibly get close with Boost, but it'd be difficult with the base +12.5% increase, as opposed to +18% increase Temple Gloves give. Even then, the attack would only last through one hit.

But well, if you throw in a couple bards to give him every Minne and Minuet song available.. who knows. With just one bard, and everyting a warrior would use, I could see breaking 600 on both simultaneously easily.

You mean that? Defender, Sentinel, Rampart, Protect 4, Double Minnes, and an HQ Taco wearing full defense gear. Yeah.
 
I imagine with the help of a BRD, Cocoon, and the proper gear a BLU/MNK could probably get 999/999 if only for a brief moment.
 
It wears off quick for you val because maat keeps wearing your monk down everytime you face him=P
 
Maat is a pansy. I did 2539 damage last time I ran that fight and it wasn't enough. This fight annoys me no end, but I'm enjoying the chance to really tinker with gear and WS macros and stuff; I've always had them set up, but a lot of parties kill things so fast I don't bother, especially with the chi blast gear.

Hit Maat for over 730 with a chi blast, though. I think I've got a pic someplace.

Considering the only bonus Relic Horn gives that you can't get otherwise is to Ballad (and inventory space), and it -still- doesn't let you sing 4 songs at once.... no.

2 BRDs and a MNK/BLU. Should be able to do it with Cocoon and a bunch of defense songs.
