How is there no thread for this?

The game is amazing, and even better than the first one. New augments on the weapons, 4 new characters with very varied powers, tons of new enemy types, the same hysterical writing, flawless drop-in/drop-out co-op. How can anyone possible go wrong with this game?

I absolutely love the "value" guns that they added in the game. With these guns, you don't reload them, you toss them away and a new one spawns in your hands with a full clip. The catch is, that any ammo left in the clip when you reload is completely lost, but the bonus is, you've turned the gun into a grenade when you tossed it, and the more ammo in the gun, the more damage it does. It does take some getting used to not reloading every time the clip is empty and I have a free moment, but being able to attack during a reload is worth it.

They've also reworked the in-game achievement system, whereas before you killed 50 bandits and you got some experience, now you get badass tokens. The tokens you trade in (it's in the menu, so you don't even have to go anywhere) to buy permanent account upgrades for your characters. That's right, characterS; the changes carry over to every character you make. They're small, a 1% increase at best in certain areas, but over time they start adding up. They've also started including things other than kill X number of Y enemies, you'll have to find items in the world that you might just pass by otherwise as filler items, or you have to kill a boss without something happening.

I'm about 8 hours in on Zero(assassin/sniper), and I just rolled an Axton(commando) about 3 hours ago; but I'm having an absolute blast. Everyone, get this game, NOW.

I got the game and haven't played the single player campaign yet. After about an hour+ install last night I was finally able to join in with 3 of my friends that had already been playing. Unfortunately for me, I didn't actually get very far on the original Boarderlands. This is mainly due to my grievous error in buying that game for the PS3.

I ended up playing with my buddies for about 3-4 hours before we had to stop and call it a night. And yes, like Baj said, this game is amazing. While I started at level 1 and my friends were already at the 7-9 level range, things were really tough at first. I was dying left and right, but relatively quickly I found myself catching up to them and once I got a shield equipped and got my first ability things became much smoother and I was able to feel like I was contributing to the gun-battles. By the time we logged off I was either level 9 or 10 and at most they were only level 11, almost 12. We each played a different character (though you don't have to do that if you don't want to, which is great) and I played Maya the Siren

Blah, double post.

The first one was a sure 10/10 for me, hell, I was still playing it up until GW2 fairly regularly, but this one... it's 100% better. My favorite thing about it though is that it feels like a real, honest to goodness PC game instead of a port. Its absolutely flawless in that area. I've been so hooked on GW2, and having already played a lot of the console versions of BL2 during testing, I was like, "meh, I'll get to it when I get to it." Today GW2 went down for a while and I booted it up... 11 hours later I was able to pry myself away from it. It's so damn perfect.

I still can't believe what I'm seeing though. Fully maxed out this game is something else to see, and again, it runs flawlessly, always above 60 FPS.

I think the writing and humor, up to Chapter 7 (how far I am), is well above anything in the first. The first gave me a few chuckles, but this game has given me stomach pains from belly giggles. I completely lost it when I saw this on the side of a porta-john:

Lastly, I was kind of taken off guard by how cool the guns look now. In the first, and the generic testing ones for 2 (they looked like BL1 stuff), I wasn't expecting the levels of detail and coolness that the final version has applied to them. Every gun I'm using right now (I no longer use the one pictured) is very cool to look at, paring that with the customization options for characters, showing class mods, etc., they've really out done themselves. I'm not real sure how I'm going to control myself when the inevitable third-person view mod hits with all these neat (despite being small for the most part) character customizations and what-not going on. The feel of the guns is much better too, I think they finally found that "umph" to add to them to make you feel like you're actually firing a sturdy weapon, so-to-speak.

I've only played a bit. I do like the game, but the start feels slower than the first :P But it's still a great game.

jakob sniper rifles are my friend. anyone on xbox?

Sorry, I'm on Steam.

I'm on PSN, only cause I got the first on PSN and figured (eh, I'll continue with it). Kinda wish I got it for steam now since so many I know on my steam friend's list are on it. Oh well.

So all said and done this game does have one problem... it's too damn long. I swear the next time I'm at GB I'm goin' to Ash the hell out of some folks. I just want to farm man, that's it, I don't want to do 3000 side quests. So I've got my own IRL quest, to find out who did this and make sure it doesn't happen again (cool story: the reward for failure is awesome too). More seriously though, the pacing is just the worst. All that out the way, still the best damn "AAA" FPS in forever.

P.S. I smell delicious.

I have yet to come anywhere near beating this game. I have a single-player game I'm running through with Zero, but this game is just so much more fun to play with my friends. Though it does tend to get a bit repetitive when doing the same quests about 4 different times. My main problem is I started out with just 3 other RL friends that got the game, then two more RL friends got the game about a week later, so.. it's kind of hard to coordinate who/when to play with. I want to stick with the core group with my Maya, because Maya is awesome. But they keep rolling new toons, when we had a perfectly rounded group initially.

I don't think the length of the game is a problem at all to me. In fact, I'm quite glad it's a long game. So many games these days are so damn short that they just aren't worth the money they cost. This game on the other hand, as I've read, is a fairly decently length. I read some guy beat it in around 30 something hours in a single player playthrough. I imagine that's probably not exploring everything, though he did state he did every sidequest. Plus the game's got replayability, finish leveling up your character, get more bad-ass loot. Best achieved when playing with 3 of your good friends, at least in my opinion.

This game is so good. There is one quest chain I could repeat over and over and probably not get tired of it and that is the one with Tiny Tina. Not sure if she comes into play again later on in the game, but I hope so. She's a highly amusing character.

Just completed the game myself. I honestly found it to be too short. Which in this day and age of short games...who complains about one that is long. A good game should be long! I actually have about 5 characters going at the same time. 4 with all separate groups and one for solo. All but one of them is zero. Once i realized i was getting close to the end, i got that feeling of...damn...already?! so i stopped and started finishing up some side quests, though i only had a few left. I explored the hell out of the game too.
I am starting my second play through in the extra game mode in a little bit so i can fight the new enemies and get better loot. The game was amazing. Though my explorations did land me in a few spots where i got stuck and had to back out of the game and start the area over, even found a spot in the highlands that i cant believe they didn't see, there is a hole in the map that is plain as day and you fall through it and fall for a long time under the map before finally dying. Its near the windsock that you have to jump off of a cliff and land on a ledge to get to. Its right above the big dirt area with all the threshers.

Tiny Tina was by far my favorite character. She even gave me the final laugh in the main story line before you set out to do the final battle. Loved all the little references in the game. So many to find! The Minecraft one and the double rainbow one were both pretty memorable. But i have been posting every easter egg and reference i find on another forum, and the list is huge! The Boondock saints shields are by far my favorite items in the game!
Most fun I have had in forever gaming.

Yeah strid, I have a friend who worked on this too and every time I find a seriously well hidden vault sign; there's an inevitable "dammit brian.". Next time I see him I'll blame him for them.

I both love the length and hate it. I want to move on to get better loot, to unlock more upgrades for my character, but at the same time, it's jut so damn good I don't want it to ever end. I've got 46 hours in across 4 characters, but I've mainly played zero for solo and action for a co-op with my friend. This is the first game since I've quit FFXI, except for maybe monster hunter tri, that has actually effected my sleep. every day when I get home from work I end up playing co-op until at least midnight. The only reason I'm stopping is to stop from falling asleep at my desk; this game is pure crack.

Tiny Tina is hilarious, we just did the tea party quest with her last night. One of the best characters ever.

I do, it's pacing is absolutely atrocious. I mean, did you seriously do everything in Lynchwood and not think, "Wow, stop sending me back to that same damn spot 15 times?" It's one thing to be long, it's another to be long because of repetitive, menial tasks.

Again, me just wanting to farm the hell out of the game is probably why it's eating me up so much. I've put 57 hours into the game, about 8-9 of them not working on side-quests or main story missions and I've just gotten to Data Mining.

Anyway, on the better things; I love me some Tiny Tina too. I'd love to see the scene of her riding on Brick's shoulders blowing shit up (it's told in an ECHO device). I also thoroughly enjoy leveling up Goliaths and listening to the midgets.

i can see what you mean about the constant back and forth. I didn't notice too much since i was always getting side tracked into exploring as i went along, I actually loved Lynchwood, up until i got to the area with the skag riders...then i died alot and hated it.

Me and some friends decided to try to take on Terramorphous today, though im only 35 and they were in the 20's. We knew we would die, we didn't even move his health bar down a sliver. I absolute HATE threshers so the fact that he is one...made me cringe!

Oh yeah.. man I hate threshers. SOoooooooo much. Ugh. So far they are probably my least favorite enemy. Well to be honest it's a tie between them and the ratmen. I hate the ratmen so much because they never freaking stand still quite long enough for me to get a good home in on them with my sniper rifle. They are constantly moving their heads around and I just want to crit the hell out of them. D:

Ha, when my buddy and I first came about them, after a few waves I said exactly this: "Can you imagine having to aim at these guys with thumbsticks?"

Threshers are probably my least favorite enemy too. The "invincible" being one is rather in line though if you think about it...

So Mechomancer came out Tuesday and I gotta say, it's kind of awesome. I mean, sure, I'm basically an adolescent school girl mechanic (who lost an arm and built a fully functional robotic one, somehow). Now I haven't played Gunzerker or Soldier yet, but it seems to me like the Mechromancer has one of the longest lasting and longest cooldowns to her action ability out of all the classes. But that's okay, because Deathtrap is freaking awesome. Currently going down the BFF skill tree because quite frankly it looked the best. Though the middle class tree looked okay too. The something Chaos tree didn't look appealing at all though, it just had a cool name. (Do tons of damage but have no accuracy at all to hit things) <- Yeah, that is not something I'd want in a FPS style game with guns when hitting critical spots is very important.

My only objection or complaint is that while it's cool they made a new class, they didn't add any new things to the game to explore her character or even show she exists. Like how there are wanted posters of the other 4 classes, nothing for her. She wasn't reworked into the intro or given one of her own even though they have been working on building this new class and character since before the game launched. That part makes me a little sad. I enjoyed finding the echos that gave us a bit of a background on the first 4 BL2 characters. Now I don't know (though I doubt it) if they added some echo devices containing character info for the Mechromancer as I haven't gotten that far with mine yet, but I hope they did.

So it turns out there's still a lot to this game that I didn't even know about in my first playthrough as Zero. I was playing as Maya, but then my friends switched up playing characters and I didn't want to have two Maya's playing at the same time even though I loved playing as Maya. I ended up playing Zero since that was the one guy no one else was playing and I found that I greatly enjoy my Zero, having gone down the sniping tree I do insane amounts of crit dmg and regular dmg. I think last I stopped on my Zero I was level 41 or 42 and the highest crit I can remember seeing myself do was 202k and I regularly get crits of 100k or greater. It's awesome.

Mechromancer is awesome. And honestly the chaos tree is amazing. Build tons of anarchy, then do a discharge and have amplified damage, insane boost of accuracy and health regen, switch back to anarchy and drop more damage. It is just a beast tree that i can roll through any area of the game like butter with. All my friends are doing the other skill trees for her, but once they saw how powerful my level 20 mech was, they all respected for it. Besides, the point of anarchy is to auto reload as much as possible, so shotguns and assault rifles are best, meaning accuracy does not really take place into much of it. have had zero issues with hitting stuff even with over 200 anarchy stacked.

I played as Zero as well my first run through, got him to 50, got conference call and bee shield and farmed terramorphous solo for awhile, moving onto verimorphous soon. Love Zero. I only did the sniping tree after i maxed up my melee tree, doing 600K+ melee hits and being able to constantly do it with my dash move while invisible, you can clear out an area before your team mates have time to land enough shots to kill something. Zero was made for melee! Plus you can still do a good amount of the sniping tree after you spec out the melee tree, you can get up to around B0re with it and be an absolute killing machine.

There are no echos for mech in the game, they did all the echos online on youtube prior to her release, just released the last one today.

The pirate DLC comes out the 16th!

Zero is the only one I'm not really liking, but that's mainly due to his action skill. I just seems much more defensive than the other skills, but he is my main solo character at this point. I'm not big on melee in these games, which seems to be a big reason for him, so I think I might have just picked my solo character poorly.

Axton, I absolutely love. I built up the Guerrilla tree long enough to get the rocket pods on my turret and now it's disgusting how much damage it puts out. I didn't care for the rest of the skills in the tree, so now I'm working on gunpowder, which I'll take all the way down. Axton is my main multiplayer character.

I've got a level 9 mechnomancer, and I'm loving her character and her skills. I'll probably make her be my new solo character once I get her caught up to my zero.

Edit: I can't believe the first DLC pack is already coming out. I honestly haven't beaten the story yet, I've got too many games with different characters I've spent my time on; so I'm not sure how long it'll be before I can even GET to the pirate DLC.
