I swear I am 32, but my brain turns to a 9 year old when I am
completely bored. I am laughing/crying so hard I am getting "the
look" from coworkers.

I just found the Narrator program for disabled people under
START > Programs > Accessories > Accessibility (winXP)
Then I made a really nasty text file and had the narrator read it aloud.

That is so juevenile that I can't believe I found it funny, but here I
am doubled over w/ laughter. Anyhow, it passes the time.

37 minutes left in here... ><

Haha, you need to find a fine girl to ogle (or fondle, wichever works) to make the time go faster. I had one in detention and time went MUCH faster.

And yeah, I have made the narrator say some nasty things. No one uses that for anything other than what we do. Now they just need to make that voice into a hot girl.

HAHA, I don't use a PC at work but Mac's can do the same thing. It cracks me up too. I held my phone up to my speaker and used it to record my voicemail message. Sometime I answer my phone like that too. Good stuff.

I bet there is a "hot girl" plug in for it somewhere.

Some coworkers are like WTF? now. So I showed one what I was doing
and he suggested I should set it up and minimize it on another guys
maching and have it read some "customized" text file for him.

I found you can force the narrator to pause for effect by using
"Blank sentances" (space space space space ~ followed by a period)

=.=;; I tried it.. it was amusing at first... At the way he pronounced things... but... its got tedious after 5 when its still reading all my toolbar options and url address....
 
Lol Duffman. I've done this one with a group of friends.(We were really bored) But it was funny as hell listening to the narrators say some of the stuff we typed. Some of the people were actually pretty cool, like they'd chuckle when we put something extremely stupid or nonsensical. The best part though was when they asked how to spell something..

(example - I forget what name we actually said)
Us: Tell him Sanoske had a great time...blah blah blah
Narrator: Sanoske, how do you spell that?
Us: Umm... Sanrnnpoosuykeieyq :twisted: :twisted:
Narrator: Could you repeat that?
*Everyone in room slaps their foreheads* =P

BTW: Trying to talk to the narrator personally never works. It goes about the same as if someone were to try and have a personal conversation with a GM. :roll:

some time ago, I got my hands on some free demo text-to-speech
engine/program. It had 3 voices to choose from and it only read the
text that you told it to read. It didn't read the window name and
path etc.


It had a chick's voice as one of the 3 to choose from. If I get bored
enough today I'll try to find it.
