This is my very first post, on a topic that always makes my skin crawl. It has been bothering me since I started playing last winter.

I'm talking about someone making an innocent remark about anything at all like "Hey I just got my AF1! w00t!" and instead of hearing "Good job!" or "{Config}ulations!" you hear crap like, "I got all my AF in three days when I was level 50."

Or worse, "I'm farming to buy [fill in the blank] and it's taking forever because it costs 200K and I need 30K bad" and you hear, "Ya, I gotta buy [fill in the blank]. That costs 5 million and I only have 3 million." You have 3 million? Please just hand over 30K and make someone's day for god's sake.

Who are these social clods who always have to top whatever is said?!!

So a person dies in a Dunes party and they're all /cry because they deleveled and the party's breaking up now so they'll have to wait until tomorrow to get it back, someone else will always have to tell about the time that they died five times at a much higher level and had to wait three weeks to get another party. Or you finally make Hero in Jeuno (yay!) and someone says "I'm a Hero in every city." Yeah, you're a Rank 10 and have been playing for two years. Your MULES should be heros in every city by now! Oh? you have 11 mules? {Config}ulations!!

Someone stop these people! They suck the life right out of you!
 
While I agree with you on a lot of points, some are really not quite right...

Saying I need 5 mil when I only have 3 mil isn't braggin so much..End game shit is all obscenely priced for the most part, so yea..3 mil ISN'T that much.

Also, I've often tried to make people feel better when they whine about a low level death by saying, "Hey, when I die on my Paladin, I lose 5 times our EXP combined lol." or something along those lines. Some people try to do it to lighten everyone up. Not always necesarily bragging.

The AF thing isn't cool though...Some people just can't be happy for others, unfortunately. Everything is a competition.
 
it took me like.. 7 months to complete AF >.> (ok.. I took a break for 3 of those months) because of leveling, farming, trying to find help for that damn hat when I was level 60! x.x But I was soo happy I did it. I can understand when people say "oh well I got such and such faster" that it pisses ya off a bit.. does the same to me. I usually just say "that's nice.. no one asked.. congratulations! [so and so's name here]" and be on with it.

In my opinion, nothing wrong with bragging as long as you show conscious effort to show apperiation and give your <Congratulations>, nice job!s and etc to others.

So for every time one would brag about themself, they say a few nice things about ours, so it evens out.

Mabel, <3 I know EXACTLY how you feel. The day I got my Zenith mitts and told my LS, someone goes... "Oh, so you don't have the +1s?" Shit like that totally ruins the "buzz" that I get from doing something well.. People on this game lack the ability to be happy for others.

Grats on your accomplishments Mabel, you're a great little taru!~ :)
 
Oh yeah? Well, I have all my BST AF done except for the gainters and trousers, and my BST is only 40 8) 8) 8) 8)

Those keys have been in storage forever :( I really need to pick up WHM again.

Yeah some guys think they are better than everyone else. Then it turns out theres someone 10 x better than them with 10 x the better gear. Just ignore fucktards like that. Thats what i do

Or that someone with 10x better gear ends up beinga gil buyer that don't know their job, and your still better then them :P

I have, sadly, bragged at times. I think everyone have, without really noticing. It's more that someone says something, and you think "Cool, I've done that too!" and then you tell your story, which might sound like bragging although you really didn't mean it like that <.<;
 
I do believe that most people respond "on topic". They're normal and conversational about it and and they are fine.

But there's some where they steal your thunder and it's real obvious - you can just "feel" it thru the screen! ><

I made up those examples off the top of my head, since I can't always remember exactly what they say but I remember how I felt about it. Indignant!

anyway, that's my beef and I guess it's okay to say something here. Most people are very interesting to me and there's a few precious ones that crack me up. Does anyone else read these to learn how NOT to act? These flameboards are golden
