The many get screwed by the actions of a retarded few...........life aint fair, but who said it WAS anyways right?

Then I missed something or whatever.. cus wasn't the OP saying that his whole purpose was for like.. maat's cap... and wouldnt that thus make him not high lvl'd on the job that he's leveling? and I guess for some jobs it prolly is.. and still tho.. more exp is more exp. That's what the majority is there for anyway.

The OP started all of this.

It's like someone suiting up and walking onto a football and then standing on the other end of the field while the rest of the team plays shorthanded. Then getting made when the game comes to them and they get knocked on their ???.

Then to have the nerve to get mad at the team for letting it happen, and be surprised when the team says either take off the helmet (tags) and sit on the sideline, or STHU and play, and don't complain about something you voluntarily chose to be a part of.

If you get a tag, you're involved in the campaign plain and simple, and if a mob gets near you and you're capable of fighting, then you need to do so. You songs are in the mechanics, so are mobs seeing anyone with a tag as a combatant.

Reason why this isn't like the old Mpking, those people didn't chose to have any part of what the other person was doing. These people do, you get a tag you should be ready to fight, and if you aren't, it's nobody's fault but your own. The whole premise of this thread was wrong.

You get capped after so many songs anyway, so even if you just did it to cap ur xp for that particular assessment, if you sit there and sing beyond it, your taking up space and wasting everyones time when you could get off your ass and help. I'ma find me a /brd and mpk him right now...maybe.

The sad part is they'd probably get more xp by actually helping out instead of singing. On average I get about 1.5-1.8k limit points per fight, depending on varying factors. Sitting there spamming Knight's Minne and Valor Minuet won't get you NEAR that much per assessment.

They need not necessarily be getting less actually. You didn't say how long it takes you to get 1.5 - 1.8k. I will just take 1800 exp and calculate it retrospectively based on the highest medal available now and say that it takes you at least 20 mins to get that amount of points. That's 20 mins of constantly doing stuff that gets you points. Usually we will take slightly longe. The best is if you could supply the length of time taken for you to achieve the 1.5 -1.8k exp results.

While singing will not get you as many points per asssessment, they can get up to a max of 300 exp per assessment (every 3.33 mins). Which means that in 20 mins, they can get evaluated 6 times for a total of 1800 exp total as well.

Please note that this does not mean that I categorically support /brd spammage at the C.A. I get lagged bad when I'm near the C.A.

Let's be serious here...what part of spamming songs over and over is fun? And if it's not fun, then why are you doing it? Isn't that why you "play" this "game?" For fun? No? Just me then...

An average battle, one with NPC reinforcements helping out, I get slightly lower returns because the battle obviously ends quicker (around 15-30 mins). Some of the longer ones, like 1-2 (even 3) hours, I'll get an assessment in between waves if it looks like it'll be a long one. Each assessment I get around 1.3-1.5k. So, on the longer ones I average somewhere around 2.5-3k. You also attain a baseline amount of xp/min depending on how long the battle lasts and your current medal.

Really it doesn't matter if they're getting as much xp as I am helping out. The point is that just sitting there spamming songs is the reason we have next to no areas under our control. The more areas we have = easier it is to win battles = easier to get xp. Amirite?

Bits I agree with, bits I don't. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand this shit just as much as the next person. But to say "just sitting there spamming songs is the reason we have next to no areas under our control" is not the case. We'd have just a many, or few, areas under our control if they weren't campaigning at all. Granted, we'd probably have more areas if they would get off their asses and do their jobs. But them being there /brd is not the reason we have no areas. People being there doing something for their own gain doesn't cause us to have no areas. The lack of people doing something to help our cause does. Similar, but not the same.

But still, it's fun to mpk them, so I don't like this nerf that's coming up.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the sole reason we have no areas is cuz some fucktards /brd to spam songs. The reason for that lies with the fact that EVERYONE votes Preemptive Strikes for our battle strategy instead of stuff like Battleline preservation or Stronghold defenses. Part of the reason we can't KEEP areas is because not everyone who can help is (i.e. the /brd ppl who spam songs). I say that because if that war/brd would get off his ass and help, maybe one Raging Rush or Steel Cyclone would be the difference between Di'Dha Adamantfist killing our last npc and him dying and thus, winning the battle.

Very true. It's the DD's that get me. Like you said, the WAR's and DRK's who stand there /brd, singing away when they really WILL make the difference between winning and losing campaigns. Even without caring about the overall effort, they're doing themselves out of exp through their laziness/ignorance.

You have a larger cap from auto-attack and damage dealt than with songs. The more damage you do = more xp you get. I personally love having the ability to get temp items.

2 particular favorites of mine are Fool's Drink (nullifies magic damage) and Champion's Drink (increases crit rate). I've popped both of those and finished off the last 1/8th of Shadoweye with that. As I've said in the other campaign-related threads, I'm almost always out there fighting. Even worse than the /brd are the people who can CURE and just sit there spamming enhancing spells and songs. That irritates the fuck outta me.

Which also ends this bullshit about "I'm 42WHM, I can't do anything in campaign except sit and cast bafira on myself OVER and OVER and OVER"

You can cure, you can raise. When we don't have any npc units out there with Woundpatchers to cast raise, and I see a whm casting enhancing spells, I get fucking pissed. People need to do what they can to help the cause...which is getting more areas for your nation (go basty) and driving the beastmen out. It just means easier and more xp for everyone.

I had a drk friend of mine get like 3K exp per battle via simply meleeing and WSing like normal.

Isn't that easier than casting songs? hit attack, /follow, and go grab a drink while your character bashes away at the mob?

>_>

Yes, it is. It's easier, better for him, and better for us. Which is why it's so fucking annoying to see 75 DD's /brd standing there singing songs.

I don't see "Sing" in the job description of any DD. You do what you've done for the past 74 levels and hit the fucking mob. I shit myself with rage when I see well geared DD's sitting there. They could be hitting mobs and shit, and instead they sing cuz its easier than DDing somehow. You do what your job is in campaign still. Tanks tank. Mages cure/nuke/enfeeble/buff/etc., and DD's DD.

Sry mates, again, /BRD isnt the reason regions are lost. Dare I say, regions are lost because people are in San'doria mpking bards.. verses hiking out to say Ronfaru. Battles are lost because the Mobs bring in their resources and people who are "fighting" stand there continuing to "fight your crusade" on whacking mobs your "legitimate" way verses making an attempt to stop them. Dare we coimplain about "tank jobs" that don't tank while we're complaining about the lil lvl 42 whm/brd who's not healing you/raising you? Do you know how much mana a lvl 42 whm has? And how quickly its gone? Or how long it takes to get more mana at that level? Of course the whm stands to gain more exp with the current system-- and if you think singing is boring.. cure bombing/rinsing and repeat is too. Difference is the singing is going to net more exp. I won't be surprised when they make this update if healers start fading out completely with the exception of fighting the NMs. At least the ones that didnt level up some form of melee skill.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.. UNTIL SE makes for a reason for people to gain control of areas people are going to primarily use campaign as a means to gain exp. And Maru-- in no way does us having control of more areas = easiier to get exp. Wait, no, I will make one exception and thats if you travel through the past to get to say Jeuno via rolenberry fields to like meet up with your forming party or something. (I'd include being able to go to exp camps in the past but I'd say that most people don't exp in the past yet. *Forgive me if I am wrong here-- as I'd love to know of some good camps there, btw.) Having no areas means you are most likely going to have constant battles in campaign which thus = more exp in campaign.

The more areas the beastmen have, the stronger they are. The stronger they are, the easier it'll be for you to die. The more you die, the less xp you get. So its logical to say that the more areas you have the easier it'll be to get xp because it'll be easier to stay alive and win battles. Also, the field medics spells are dictated by the amount of regions under your control, which means that if theres no healers/raisers/etc in a campaign battle, at least you can get healed and raised by them, provided they're there.

If you read what I said, I didn't attribute us not having any areas solely to ppl /brd. It is largely because of, like you said, people not doing what they can to help. Be it doing campaign ops or fighting in other areas to gain influence, theres a lot you can do to help out, and sitting there spamming songs isn't one of them.
