well starting over again lving at a ok speed like 5-7 lvs a day and was thinking going to do the job of brd but i do not want to start lving it and be beaten on invites from a cor
i asked some one and cor do not get a refresh thing, but exping with 2 cor today had +acc range acc + exp + evs
and was good but do you think brds will get replaced and if not could some one give hints on lving brd and stuff i know you do brd/whm XD and at 66+ you are the puller
they are great in cannon parties
but from 10-66 i know jack about them could any one give some pointers

Well at the rate things are looking:

Corsair is replacing Bard
Summoner is replacing White Mage
NIN and PLD are neck to neck with Tank efficiency. Both completely different types of tanking though.

Could've sworn Evoker's Roll gave Refresh...
But no, COR isn't replacing BRD at all. There's always simply been a shortage of support jobs.
And SMN sure as HELL isn't replacing WHM any time soon.

Very true. Smn can main heal just fine, but there's many, many reasons why you'd pick a whm over a smn for main heal.

I was non stop attacking, hitting every time, and my friend (whm) was regaining mp faster then she was using it. can have 3 cor rolls on just need more then 1 cor

Nah I wouldnt worry. Bards are an excellent job. I highly doubt it will be second to cor. I love bards, actually prefer them over rdm's. I dunno maybe Im biased cuz Im married to one lol

I only know about cor what others have told me.

After hearing a bit, here would be the big differences.

Ballad is more consistant @ 3mp tick, and evoker role requires a smn to easily roll 3mp/tick and/or lucky/11 rolls to reach 3mp/tick-5mp/tick. So it's risk vs consistancy.

Cor does damage over time somewhat, were as brd/war with a sword and tuna sushi does pretty respectable at over 30 and easily 40 a hit @ 60ish with decent acc with the right gear swaps. However it's not accepted by the FFXI communtiy unlike cor DDing which is. Certain setups require very little healing/status cures power, it's annoying how much /whm goes to waste in those cases. I'll have time to cure a bit, and there will be nothing to cure, very annoying.

Brd can provide decent assistance in DoT through requiems I-VI. You may be surprised to learn just how much DoT requiem VI does over a minute to two minute period.

You need not worry about not getting a buff with brd like you do with busts on cor.

Cor and Brd both have a few buffs and other functions not available to both jobs.

-Brd has march songs which I think are huge. Minuet/victory march does much to improve the party's total DoT, unless magridal is needed for a reason. I don't believe cor has access to haste rolls.

-Brd has carols which have shown useful to me on rare occasion in mission related stuff.

-Brd has carnage elegy which is the best slow in the game and stacks with hojo ni

-cor has thief roll,war roll, mnk roll, and pet job rolls which are one of a kind. Definitely a huge plus to cor that brd doesn't have. I think the blue mage roll for magic def could prove useful for certain endgame events and CoP missions if people are willing to use it. Sometimes I wish in endgame, people would stack brd(and now cor) with the whms for the tank parties. It'd be nice to have chances to stack varying combinations of these new defensive cor buffs, carols, minne songs, march songs, mambo songs and tank even impossible stuff straight up. That's a different topic though.

-Brd has threnodies

-Cor has elemental cards

-Brd has dispel, a huge difference maker to me. As of now, I don't know of a dispel cor has. In some cases, they won't be able to replace rdm and brd efficently because of that.

That's all I can think of. Brd will never be replaced, but the competion with cor is fine by me. Even with cor thrown into the mix, there still won't be a lot of competion. I think cor looks like a powerful job that can fit into FFXI well without screwing brd or rdms over.

From 10-66 you should have no trouble getting invites BUT when I was bard it made things that much easier for me to make a kick-ass party than wait on my ass to be invited b/c you have more control, especially if u already know a whm friend to lvl with. That being said - u know what drops the cool broom bards use in Giddeus - get that b/c it's virtually all you'll be using once you hit that lvl cap. From my experience, take it or leave it, I hardly ever used those songs (can't remember the names) that weakened mobs to certain elements.. just not enuf time really b/c you'll find yourself too busy running back and forth refreshing, buffing, dispelling, etc to really use those but again - everyone plays the game differently do what works for u. Hope this helped a little

Could someone please explain these rolls to me? You can get certain effects depending on what jobs are in your party? And how big is this hMP boost?

the rolls kind of suck you go bust on the exp and the cor gets -10% exp
