I'm just saying...everyone needs to move on stop being such a bunch of jackasses over this hating...it doesn't help anything.
I don't think it's a matter of hate. It's more an irritation than anything else. For most of us it's just a pass-time to identify them and grumble about it. You can't spend all your time playing FFXI^^.
As to why some people really hate RMT'ers, let me give an example... true story.
Camping King Arthro with my LS. Everblack and 4 others that some people call "gilsellers" are the only competition. We outnumber them 2:1, which is the most important factor in claiming (fuck skill, it's mostly luck and numbers). When the Knight crabs spawn, a sign that KA is next, the gilsellers stall the last one. Right after they kill it, Everblack comes into the spawn site with a huge train of non-aggroing mobs (snipper and sheep)...
If you don't know it, there are no mobs in that area to train. Zero. Nada. The only way to do it is to teleport hack across the lake, gather up a bunch of them, then teleport back. The mobs can follow you anywhere as long as you don't zone. So that's cheat/hack #1.
Next,
all the mobs are purple (claimed) by this one guy. We can't touch them to get rid of any stray targets. Hack #2.
When KA does pop, we are trying to tab through about 10 new targets, but they voke and claim instantly. You can do this by removing .dat files so you cannot target the files (mobs) removed. Hack #3.
About 9 GM calls are made, complete with screen shots for evidence. People wait for hours to get a chance to report these pieces of shit. No one is ever contacted by a GM.
This is the problem with RMT. Real money means real incentive to cheat. Everyone promises to play by the rules every time they log on. These people are lying everytime they click "agree" just because they sell gil for dollars. It's not that hard to see that they would cheat in other ways as well. RMT=hacks/cheating 100% of the time. I've never seen it otherwise.
Basically, these RMT'ers are saying, "You want to play the game that you pay money to enjoy? Fuck you, give me real-life dollars or fuck off." Hacks/cheating is the "big stick" that goes along with the threat. It doesn't assure the gilsellers of victory, but it swings the odds in their favor. For those of us that refuse to give in and buy gil, it adds hours each week and days each month, of frustration as our limited playtime is made less enjoyable by people actively trying to
force us to pay them in order to play a game we already pay for.
Now, I don't know you Paddinton, but I've got no problems with you. Lots of people disagree with me, I know it doesn't make them bad people... it just make them wrong^^. But you should understand a person's point of view even if you end up disagreeing with them. I hope I made things clear to you about the opposing opinion.
