Well looks like he's coming back. Personally i think the man has earned his retirement and shouldn't, but hey what can you do. But the kicker is that he doesn't want to come back to Green Bay. The Ravens and the Bucs are looking to grab him if the packers let him out of his contract, he's got 3 years left on it. He's trying to make the break peacefully, but the Packers organization has not made a final statement as to where they will let him go or not.

Discuss.

I think it's stupid, and quite frankly I'm sick of having Favre "Comeback Rumors" shoved down my throat every time I try to watch any sports show. He cried like a little baby, and is probably going to cry like a little baby when he retires for the second, third, and fourth times.

It didn't work for MJ. It's not gonna work for Favre. Stay retired buddy, you were a legend and one of my favorite players growing up, so cut the publicity stunt bullshit already.

If he comes back and doesn't play for Green Bay, my whole opinion on him is going to change.

We all know this is the Madden Curse at work, Brett really wants to retire but is forced to come back so he can get injured!

Man it has to suck to be a Packer's fan right now.
I've always had the upmost respect for Brett Farve, even as a bears fan, and I hope he finds a team he can try and run the table with.
That being said, I would like that team to wear navy blue and orange jerseys.
It's a pipe dream(boy do i love crack), but who says a guy can't dream?

I think its really fucked up the position he put the Packers organization in, youve got a young guy in Aaron Rodgers who was basically told "Your the man now, go be the man" so hes preparing to do jsut that and all of a sudden the future Hall of Fame quarterback that had passed on the torch, says he wants to come back and be the man?

Thats just fucked up, and Farve is looking like an ass, cant these guys learn from all the players who pulled the "One more year" crap and ended their careers with terrible teams on low points. (Joe Namath, Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana) DONT DO IT!

Exactly my opinion.

Brett Favre is the green bay packers. If they didn't want me back, I would retire. His legacy is in green bay, he should retire in green bay.

For example, Jerry Rice's legacy was for San francisco, when he came back for Oakland, and later I think Seattle? It wasn't the same and a lot of people lost respect for him. I really don't know why he's doing this.

Well Jerry Rice atleast had a good season or two in Oakland, and they did go to the Super Bowl, the Seattle thing was stupid and he even tried out for the Broncos and didnt make the cut

This.

I hate to be the one to say it, but last season was such a fluke. Record setting numbers for his career, yet the year before, he sucked balls and we all thought he should have retired then. He always has said he wanted to finish with Green Bay, so if he comes back to play for someone else, you really must wonder what his motives are, but I guess it's for the ring and not the love of the game and his team.

I'm more confused about how you could possibly not know how to spell "Favre" ?

I'm probably just really tired, but didn't Green bay win the super bowl in like, '95?

edit: Yep, sure did, they won in '97.

I didn't mean his first ring, but another. That was 11 years ago, 12 years next season. What reason would he have other than wanting another ring?

lol he sucked balls because he was team was very young and still maturing then.

Look guys, Favre is my favorite NFL player. Hell I live in Hattiesburg, MS and attend Southern Miss. I do wish he would stay retired BUT how can you guys criticize a man that has played this sport his whole life? It's all he knows, and while 37 is old for the NFL, he's still a young man in the work force. Most guys retire at 65, that would leave him 28 years difference between the average working man. This happens ALL the time. He isnt broken like Mcnair. He's still an above average talent QB. If he wants to come back so what?

Yeah yeah every year the question raises is he gonna retire or not. Just don't let it bother you, how hard is that? He's a superstar athlete, and 90% of them act this way toward the end of there career. They just can't let go something they love so much. I'm pretty damn sure you would have the same problem as well.

"For the ring and not the love of the game" LOL man come on? It's all ways for the ring, and that proves that it's for the love of the game. Players jumping ship for bigger contracts to teams that don't have a shot at winning a superbowl for years, now thats love of money, not the game.

According a sports talk show host in Green Bay, Bill Michaels I think his name was, the Packers don't plan to realease Favre

Not letting go of him was a bad decision. They need to go ahead and build around the new guy instead of just tryin' to win "one more" with a guy who just can't pull it off anymore. There is no future in Favre.

I think what I heard later is they are not going to let him go, but are sticking with Rodgers as the QB.
